Well, in the process of downgrading my 3ds to 2.1, it would keep failing. I had restore my emuNAND several times and somehow updated my sysNAND. I was trying to do this as a birthday gift for someone and now it seems that i'm out of luck. So, can anyone direct me to someone on GBAtemp who has a history of doing hard-modding 3DS's, or what is the easiest way of doing this myself?

its an old 3ds. I got it while it was on version 6 firmware.
Oh, if it's an old-3ds non-xl then he won't do it. It's the most difficult console to do because its clock point is in a really inconvenient spot.

I'm not sure who would be able to do it for you, sorry.

Then i guess hardmodding it myself is the best option?
If you have zero soldering skills, do not attempt. You will permanently brick. The alt clk point needs to be scraped, if you scrape the coating off too much, you will kill the trace.

I am reading the guide right now and sadly i have never soldered before. I can give it a shot but i would need to learn first.
If you've never soldered before, don't start with a game console. The space on the board is tight and you could easily melt/destroy components on the board permanently destroying your 3DS. I think @hundshamer does non-XL o3DS consoles, but he is backlogged at the moment so he's not taking new orders. You can wait for him to catch up and start taking new orders again.

I see, well is there anyone that could downgrade my old 3ds non-xl in the US you might know?

My backlog is clearing up quite nicely. I sent out over 20 consoles last week, and am on track to do another mass shipment tomorrow. At this rate it will not be too long until I am accepting order in an official capacity.

How long did it take, how much did he do it for and when did you get it back?
It costed me either $35 (if I remember correctly). It took about a 8 days of say. This person is totally trusted. I was scared to ship and all, but it all worked out. Aliak11 has done it for many people here on gbatemp. I totally recommend him. It was a nice clean install as well. I'm actually selling the hard modded 3da in the trading forums. Check out the pictures.
