Upon trying to update an Alpha Sapphire .cia from emuNAND I get the error code 009-6106. I looked around for some information but couldn't find anything concrete; anyone have any ideas?

Sorry to bump, but I'd like to get this resolved. Anyone have any ideas?

did you use an eshop update or a CIA update?

I've been trying over eShop, as I couldn't find a cia update at the time.

I just found one, though. I'll try that. I might have installed 1.1 as a cia if that matters, but I didn't update after that.

Download the update from eshop and delete any previous updates or any "dlc" that has a value of zero

Same error code. Trying the cia update now.

This happened to me at one point I started from scratch after backing up my saves using sdf and formatting the 3ds. From what I understand bbm leaves some kind of residual files from previous CIA installs and this screws up Eshop downloads.

The CIA might work but if its online game you will be "banned" simply because the update is no good. getting the update from the eshop will fix it but like I said you would need to format.

If that means losing/reinstalling my games, then I'd rather avoid the hassle and just not install the update.

Do ALL cia updates for online games trigger bans?

No I just assumed you were trying to play Pokemon online or smash those are the only games ive had problems with using CIA updates but like I said bbm is doing something funky because after deleting a CIA update you cant get the eShop update, you end up getting 007-2999 or 009-6106.

and that "ban" I mentioned is not permanent it seems to be a conflict with the update you're using itself, sorry if im confusing you im just going off of personal experience and testing

Nah, you're fine.

Installed the cia update, and everything's working fine for now. I can live with the temporary ban risk, as I don't do much online aside from trading Pokemon every once in a while.

I'm having the same problem, I'm trying to buy DLC from Hyrule Warriors and I keep getting this error code. I have pirated it before, but I bought it from the eShop after I liked it. Can anyone help? Should I call support or would that get me banned, could they know I have modded my 3DS?

if you need help to make piracy seamless just ask us!
But... at this point it's almost seamless already! We have CIAngel, and soon, FreeShop too... what more could we need?

Having hard time using piracy ? Good !

You'd be great working with SALT.
