Your thread watching habits?

Do you have auto-watch-when-you-reply on?
Do you have alerts for watched threads on?
Based on what do you decide to watch a thread?
I'm just curious because if I have auto-watch on, I can get back to threads I replied in, but get flooded with alerts and I can't keep track of all my watched threads over time. In this case I end up unwatching 'em all, also some useful ones.
If I don't have that on, I miss replies because some people just can't use the quote function. The same when someone else chimes in.
Any advice on how can I use this function more efficiently?

auto-watch on, plus watch for some subforums - namely, the site discussions and suggestions subforum, because a) that lets me respond to suggestions and questions regarding the site very quickly, and b) I've noticed that's where an overwhelming majority of spambots post, so if I get an alert from that forum, there's a significant chance it is a spambot and I can nuke it in a matter of seconds rather than waitng for someone to go through the reports and see it after a few hours. I get a lot of alerts, yeah, but it's no big deal to me. If I'm not interested in a thread anymore I just don't click the alert for it. After a while the watch setting seems to fall off anyway and I stop getting alerts. Haven't pinned down why.

I autowatch after replying and I watch the Buying/Selling subforums, as well as introductions. Watching the Selling subforum was a cracking idea, and netted me a sweet console, and it's always nice to be the first to welcome people to the forum

If I used auto-watch I'd be even more inundated with notifications than I already am.

Watching threads that are interesting. Disabled likes alerts because I get too many notifications.

I also am constantly watching the new content and recent status updates, 'cause I'm a fucking stalker.

i believe i watch the wtg/wtt forum, and nothing else. might have watched a few tempmas entry threads in the past.

if someone needs me, i get a notification. that's enough for me.

Yeah why am I lying? I don't auto watch but I just troll and read myself on manuel-watch.

Anything above 20 falls into the too much category for me.

I usually get around 20 notifications when I'm gone for a little while (as in a few hours or so, sometimes a day).
