Stop using RxTools and switch to luma3DS. https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/wiki/Installation-and-Upgrade

if its like pulling teeth to install it, no thanks as it took me a few hours to install rxtools and that was with a video walk through
You don't 'install' CFW. All you need to do is put the luma3DS files on your SD card and launch your emuNAND/redNAND using the homebrew provided.

It is only difficult if you plan on installing a9lh (assuming you haven't already). If you just want to stick with your existing emunand setup then it is just a matter of copying files over and possibly editing a single config file if you use a boot manager.

any video walk throughs i can use to do it
No video walkthroughs. The best guide available is currently Plailect's guide, and it has plenty of safeguards for users, and is overall the best guide for the whole 3DS hacking scene. Since you're already on emuNAND, you can start on Part 4. There is also a tool now that can help you stay on top of the steps by checking them off one by one. Here's a link.

me whenever i see something like this telling me to stop using rxtools or switch to a9 when im perfectly fine with everything being the way it is on my own 3ds.

he said he solved the issue in the second post, there is no need to try to fix another issue that is nonexistent.

I'll remember that if I run into issues with the cfw on my own 3ds, but until that happens, I'll stay on my emunand rxtools, not having any issues. I'd rather not make an issue out of one that isn't existent.

Also, just curious, does luma even use an emunand? that sounds like a drawback to me if it doesn't securitywise.

Lol. I'm not sure if there is a single 3DS cfw that cannot be run through emunand.
