Let us not forget that Socrates was against writing and reading, on the basis that it would erode memory and make people too reliant upon books to recall the past.

For everything you love and approve. of, there will always be someone that sees the activity as "bad".

But in response to the assertion that the internet is full of propaganda; Perhaps they need to take a look at more traditional mass media before demonizing the free exchange of ideas on a global scale.

As I do not think you think that computers are "bad" I can agree to some that computers can be bad IF you use it TOO much (I'm talking 24/7 7 days a week) then yeah it can take a toll on your social life (Duh.) But I do not think that computers can turn your mind to mush. I will say that they are very educational and I will get a job in the technological field! (As I am getting into Information Security)

Yeah! Thats a better way of phrasing it! I liken it to a hammer you can use it nail wood and build up society or you can bash in someone's skull! The hammer didn't make a mistake the person did!

Yes I know that. I was using the example of the hammer to tell you that people can misuse items. Guns were made to kill and I couldn't think of another use of a gun at that moment. So I used a hammer

It still does! I just used the hammer example. I just hate how society paints geeks and nerds as low lifes working on the thing that makes the world go round. Although items of controversy (Such as a gun or a computer) will get negative attention I was pointing out that a lot of people misuse the item and will paint a rather bleached appearance to such item. I do like the misuse and workarounds of some ones work (Such as hacking) and pointing out that if someone was to think out of the box (Like me and other people with good or evil intentions) they could create a work around in such item. That is what the term "Hacking" means. You can see this in the Homebrew community or the grey hat community. Misuse can be good sometimes as long as it doesn't cause pain to other people. (Which means piracy is an act of misuse but hey I do that )
