What does Gateway "Time Machine" do? xP
From what I can tell the idea is to easily noob freely allow anyone to go from any retail 3DS regardless of version to A9LH without reading any guides.

I think they plan on making GW flashcards universally launchaeble from A9LH thus making it a direct plug and play flashcard for any console version. And they plan on releasing a some kind of universal A9LH installer to be used in conjunction with GW.

The idea is that any noob should be able to walk into any store, get a 3DS, then use the GW installer to install A9 in one or two clicks, then launch GW from cold boot as if it were a real game cartridge.

I could be wrong, but this would seem the most logical step to insure GW viability, essentially to make GW a drag and drop flashcard like Sky or any of the old NDS flashcards. And allow for a one click A9 install with no guide.

i get the idea that the time machine automates getting the OTP from your console as a homebrew program. What else is a Time machine going to do other then going back to a time where the console had 2.1 firmware, and go back again to where you started.

for gateway users they will probably automate the entire A9LH process straight from the redcard. run the program leave your console on for a few hours, and you're done.

And sure people are annoyed at WaitWay for taking so long when CFW have taken off ages ago. and there really isnt any reason anymore to BUY a gateway. But for those that have bought a gateway, even the very first version, all the changes are still able to run on that hardware.. no Sky3DS case where every new feature saw a new card.

I like my gateway since i dont have to install every game on my console and simply can drag/drop to SD and load them from a multi-rom menu.

the guides seem to say getting the OTP can take hours, i cant see Gateway magically uncovering a way to get it done in minutes.
the only thing they're doing is automating the process / making it easier to do.

tbh it really just depends lot of the OTP dumping process is just safety steps, making nand dumps etc, depending on gateways methods they could bypass a bunch of steps easily, as long as their tools are stable/reliable enough to warrant skipping nand backups etc and they feel confident enough in their tools then the o3DS could easily be cut down to a 10 min job (maybe 20/25 including restore/update time) and n3DS could be done in about 30-45 mins probs.....thats assuming they just already assume everyone has already made a nand backup already

time machine sounds to me like just a downgrader since is free tool that not requires gateway card.

One thing i am wondering for a few days: Are there different versions of Gateway Cards? I bought one right after they came out and bought a second one a couple of days ago. Where do they differ?

Its probabily just a plaisysupdater clone with a dragon theme

People here dont remember that Plaisiysupdater its still not a secure downgrade tool at 100%. Software Semi Bricks are still under investigation and its a lotery right now with 11.0 out there.

GW promised a secure Downgrade Tool without risks. Lets see if it turns true.

Red Card is the esentiao one. Blue Card was a NDS Functionality Card (for DS original games load, Wood 1.52 clon, dont remember well) and it allowed you to have a Exploit way to install GW software on 9.2 FW and below but its not necesary anymore with Homebrew Channel.

The Red One is the good one that allows you to fully exploit the 3DS games Backup loading and the Downgrade software (as well as the new Ahl9 Installer).

(If you meant New complete versions of these cards nope, GW havent launched new versions of them, they are they same as day one launch years ago)

nope all gateway cards are essentially the same, there has been variations of the blue nds card (three so far iirc) but nothing that should have any real difference to end users, i think that statement was more just a pop at sky3ds for having 3 different revisions in the space of about a year vs gateway having only 1 revision over pretty much 3 years

Small correction, the blue cart was needed to install the DS Profile exploit back on 4.x, but it's not needed after they added the browser exploit (and in fact Gateway doesn't support downgraded mset on o3DS so on 5.0+ it's only useful for playing DS games)
Homebrew Launcher support came much later, that was actually added quite recently.

So it's better than Lunas or Reinand ? Already have gateway but I heard that cfw were better not sure If I should stay on gw or set up Lumas

You don't necessarily have to choose one over the other. Since you already own a GW, after the A9HL piece is released, try switching between each method and you will see which you prefer. I use both, but one allot more than the other.

I don't know how I would exactly test it since my 2DS is already exploited so installing it again might brick. I would rather not risk it with my brothers either since if it bricks it will come out of my wallet.

But this will make it easy for people who haven't already did A9LH already which is nice.

I wonder how will this work for those who have install a9lh on their system nand and have get rid of the emunand.

I am guessing we will find out our options after Sunday. I am only familiar with using GW mode with emunand. Is there a way to launch into gateway mode where you can access the menu of games when running off of system nand?

I can wait patiently until Sunday to get my hands on it, so I'm not looking for the files themselves to be leaked. The only information that I'd like to hear from the beta testers beforehand is what kinds of files they are receiving. My main questions are as follows:

1. Is there an arm9loaderhax.bin payload in the beta release, and does it work out of the box with consoles that already have current versions of A9LH installed?

2. Is there still a dependency on Launcher.dat?
