Homebrew Having a major problem with Luma

Ok guys, I'm stupid, so please help out a stupid guy here.

Yesterday I got a new microSD for my N3DS. I copied all the files from the microSD I already had to a backup folder. I still have it on my computer.

If I didn't copy the RedNAND partition (as someone from 4chan suggested), I don't know how I didn't because I highlighted every single folder of my backup and copied it into my microSD. If that isn't the case, then I have no idea what's the problem. I'll begin to describe it now.

Once I had my microSD data transferred over to the new one I entered the gridlauncher and began to read the instructions for getting the OTP in the Github guide. It said to update RedNAND to the current version, so I opened up Luma.

But Luma booted me back into SysNAND instead of RedNAND. I went back to the gridlauncher and opened Luma and went to the config menu. I didn't have anything other than "Show Current NAND in System Settings" selected (It had an X in the parentheses).

I went to EmuNAND9 and went to see if I could restore the RedNAND but it said the SD card wasn't formatted yet, so I went ahead and formatted it, then I used my backup folder again to copy the files back to my SD.

I tried to restore the RedNAND and it turned out I didn't have a backup file for it.

I even reran the downgrade, and that didn't work either. I don't know what the deal is, so I seriously need help.

You didn't copy the emunand partition as it's a hidden one.

Ok, so since it says it requires both the source SD card and the target SD card, should I delete all homebrew related files on my new microSD, put the old one back in, use the microSD manager in settings, and use the normal sized SD adapter for the new microSD to do this?

I don't see why you would need to do that just transfer over the emunand partition

This should technically work, unless I'm missing something. But just to be sure I recommend formatting your new micro sd card and follow the guide.

You can't have a file with the same name in the same spot

The guide copies literally every partition and it's components from the Source SD and stores them in another place, not on the same sd card. Then, it copies them back on the Target SD (your new one). The part with EaseUS is needed to reconfigure the partitions size and you only need it if your 2 SD's aren't the same size.

In emunand9, you must first create the emunand partition. Then you can copy your emunand.bin with either emunand9 or decrypt9

Ive always done this, but beforehand, backup all the files of the new SD, open EmuNand9, then format the New SD for EmuNand

This way, you wont have to format the card after you get the backup

EDIT: Use the EmuNAND Tool to extract your emuNAND and re-inject it with the program if you do have the emuNAND? :vv

"NAND or SD i/o failure"

I guess that means this fix doesn't work? Or is there a way to fix this error?

That's the one I've been using.

You absolutely need to run "Complete emuNAND Setup" on the new card before restoring the emuNAND backup otherwise it won't work.

Ok. I did the fix on the old sd since that's what the guide said. So I put in the new one, complete the setup, then put the old one back in and then do the 4chan fix?

Well it's official. Both of the screws on my N3DS are stripped. Any tips on how to open them?

Ok guys. I was able to get the back off. I ordered a new one and I'm going to keep the back off after a while.
