THERE'S A NEW BETTER THREAD FOR THIS NOW STOP WATCHING THIS ONE OR YOUR EYES MAY MELT: https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-using-many-kinds-of-different-mod-packs-in-sm4sh.431047/
Decided to make this since a saw it on a thread and I have the solution, and I am a merciful god.
Stay with me in this...
(CLARIFICATION: YOU NEED TO MERGE YOUR GAME FILES SINCE THE RESOURCE FILESAND THE PATCHLIST CHANGE EVERYTIME YOU BUILD A MOD, IF THE GAME DOESN'T FIND A CERTAIN FILE AT BOOT IT WILL CRASH)
1. You should dump your game (or download it as the filthy pirate you are)
2.Secondly, copy dt00, dt01, Is, the meta folder, and the code folder to TS4M's Modpack, sm4sh explorer should boot.
2A.Alternatively, you could do the opposite but there are two important downsides:
-You won't have your vanilla game.
-And some mods will not work
3.Replace all the files you need.
4.IMPORTANT:If you get "object not set to an instance of an object", you'll need to copy the file you're trying to replace to the Modpack folder (you want to replace bridge of Eldin, copy the XOldin folder from YOUR original dump, not the Hack you downloaded, to the Modpack folder, and replicate the folder structure in the Modpack), since you only copied the necessary files for it to boot. You could copy the whole game to TS4M's Modpack, but DO NOT REPLACE ANY FILES.
5. Build your hack with sm4sh explorer with the path being the one in the Modpack.
Tips:
-When Sm4sh Explorer tell you to choose the folder with your game files, choose the Modpack folder, not the original folder.
-Ask if something doesn't work and please..... READ IT THROUGH
-If this is too much work, you could always delete the Modpack and use your own game, but that defeats the point of the thread AND YOU ARE NOT A QUITTER, JUST DO IIIT.
-When putting the mod in the SD Card, there must not be a patch folder inside the folder with a lot of numbers.
-If anything is not clear, I've answered some questions in this thread: https://gbatemp.net/threads/ssbwii-u-stuck-on-logo-after-modding.426718/#post-6351637
Thanks for watching, hope it helps
