Before I get into details about class of heroes chrono academy, (which does have files with text that can be translated/edited) does anyone know if it is set to localize? I have seen no info on it so just checking. Second is lost heroes a dungeon crawler rpg that combines gundam, kaimen riders and others. I see nothing on a localization for this either, soooo, I started looking at it and it seems all the main files are locked away inside a file called ALLREZ.PCK. I'm not sure how to extract the files from it. Does anyone know how to write a bms script that could? Or any other tool?

OK so going forward with lost heroes, JamRules was kind enough to get me a bms script to unpack the ALLRES.PCK file. The file contains everything including table, but they are encrypted/compressed. Shift jis, nor utf8 dont work in mad edit. Could someone please take a look at this for me please??

So taking a closer look there are a lot of files that end in _pk.cmp so I'm thinking they are compressed (cmp)?? I think these contain story text, item and skill text. But there is a lot of them.

i dunno... maybe try hex-editing the compressed files? wizardry gaiden 6: prisoner of the battles for ps2 has everything in a compressed .LLM file; i did a personal translation for playing by using windhex32 editor and editing that file. llm's are compressed. didn't seem to affect anything.

you don't need to extract anything to translate really.

I've had a look at that game some time back.
Most cmp's are zipped. Then inside they are "packed".
After that, text uses little endian SJIS (for a lack of better words).
I got so far as to have my own tool to extract, but it's imperfect and re-inserting requires perfection.
As for extracted text, the thing is - it uses its own table and we need to figure it out. If someone wants to work together on that, I'd be happy to provide what table I have (1144 characters and a few opcodes) and a simple means of testing the codes in game. Unless someone can uncompress the font? ;)

Hi there. Made an account just to comment about Chrono Academy.

This is a direct quote from Vic Ireland (head of Gaijinworks, the company that brought over Class of Heroes 2 and 3):

We've actually been very backed up with the SN5 bugfix/UMD remaster that took a pretty long time, so once we're done getting the physical out, we'll be able to move on to putting up a lot of media for CoH3 and talk about that, then there are other things to announce before too long, too. CoH3 is the end of the PSP publishing, though, so the new stuff is all (much) newer platforms.
Now I'm a fan of the Class of Heroes series, but I rather doubt that CoH3 will do well enough to warrant bringing over Chrono Academy (or CoH4 for that matter, which I hear is even better than 3), at least not from Gaijinworks. So I don't expect it (or CoH4) to be localized. I wish I could help, but I know not a thing about PSP hacking, let alone translating Japanese.

One question: I know from playing the game a short while back that it had to be patched due to performance issues. If and when a translation patch comes out, would we have to worry about getting the bug fix patch first before applying the translation patch?

Good to know. It would be great to have help to dig into the files. I won't be a lot of help in that part (though I am slowly learning some of it) but I can do translating. Any help would be great.

Nice. Thanks for letting me know. I'm not sure, but a translation does mess with the files. I might also mess with the bug patch and have to be checked.
