Hacking Format before RGH2?

Hello, everyone. I was thinking about setting up the RGH2 on my Corona V1 Slim using a CR4 XL, a J-R Programmer, and all the QSBs, but I had been using my XBOX with other relatives for many years. As such, all their accounts are linked to it, including my own. My question is, do I need to format my 250GB HDD before I set up the RGH2? I would like to get everything off of it, as I can't use anything on it anyway, but should I do it before or after the RGH2? Thank you in advance.

EDIT: I have dashboard version 17502, if that's relevant. Also, with my current specifications, would it be possible to set up a DemoN so I can still use XBOX Live?

You could just install a 1TB 2.5 inch HDD if you want.
That way you can use the 250 GB one for Live purposes.

Yep, Live is possible with a DemoN.
Dash doesn't matter for RGH.

Fantastic, thanks. If I wanted to use a DemoN, would I have to switch the Live HDD and the RGH HDD every time I want switch between them? Also, 1TB does seem a bit large, and I don't think I'll ever use that much space... would it work if I bought something like a 500GB or another 250GB HDD? Thanks again.

Yep.
You need to switch it every time.

You don't need to use an official one.
Any sized 9mm thick 2.5 inch SATA harddrive will work.
Be it 20 or 2TB.

Very interesting! If I were to install the RGH on my XBOX first, then setup a DemoN, would I have to restore the NAND backup from before the RGH? Or does it come with a NAND preinstalled on the chip (if that can even be a thing)? Sorry if I'm asking an excessive amount of questions.

Yep, for the Live state (I recommend you flashing the LIVE enabled NAND to the console and not to the DemoN) you need to flash back the original NAND dump.

DemoN comes with a blank NAND chip.
Seeing your NAND is encrypted by the consoles CPU key, you cannot use another NAND of another console.

Oh yes, I've definitely learned not to use the NAND of another console for flashing on most devices I own... Hopefully my last questions, why do you recommend flashing the Live enabled NAND to the console NAND and not the DemoN? And if I wanted to switch NANDs (i.e. move console NAND to DemoN and vice versa), would I simply backup both of them and flash them back on the specified chips? Thank you for answering all my questions so far!

You just flick a switch on the outside of the console that's connected to the DemoN.
Or boot it via the sync, whatever method you or the installer sets up.

Why flash the NAND to the console?
Well, stock NAND belongs on the console by default? ;p
There's no specific reason other then if you remove all the hardware, it'll be a stock console again.

Hmm, I believe you misunderstood my question: if I had the modified NAND on the console, and the stock NAND on the DemoN, would I be able to flash them to one another by backing them both up and then flashing them in the opposite order (i.e. DemoN backup to console, vice versa)?

I suppose that does make sense :) . Although it would be a heck of a time doing that, desoldering and whatnot :P .

(Sorry if anything in this reply doesn't make sense, I was a bit sick while writing it.)

Yes but why would you?
I mean, one side has the hacked NAND and the other side has the stock one.
The DemoN also switches off the RGH chip when you switch to the stock NAND.
It's possible for sure tho.

Indeed it would.
I know no one who would do it besides transferring the chips to another console but eh, some people just like to solder in the same equipment a billion times ;p

Yes, but what if I installed the RGH on the console NAND first, and then bought a DemoN later? I would presume I backup my console NAND and flash that backup to the DemoN, then flash the original NAND backup from before the RGH to the console, no? Again, thank you for all the help, I sure am learning a lot.
