Whenever I try to connect to Gecko DotNET, it still doesn't let me, even though I've put the right ID, and started pyGecko on Wii U. Do I need to be connected through Wifi?
What game are you trying, what are your steps for everything, and your pc on WiFi doesn't matter, mine is connected through Ethernet.

Edit: Damn, good job @N28582R for solving it that quick.

Try to disable your antivirus.
Whoa, that actually worked, I didn't expect it. I am doing all this because as a Super Mario 3D World Speedrunner, there are some very potential skips but we need do have a cheat that let's us fly in the air to explore how they'd work. I imagine that doing that would be very hard, do you think it'd be possible?

Yes, that would be hard but I'm sure it will be possible!

I'm still stubborn with moon jump codes, so I'll see what I can do with Mario 3D World.

Sure, with the new codehandler pretty much everything is possible, search for the player coordinates and try to set them to a value, if it works, you're basically able to do a moonjump code.

the code handler have "only" the conditionnal code type.
I don't think we can use it to increase a value

He was referring to the WIP of the next code handler release which will feature load int, store int, load float, store float, integer operations and floating point operations :)

wanted to have it released for 2 weeks now, i'm just stuck with with solving the freeze of computing fsqrt and i'd like to figure out how to convert int to float in ppc

Can't you compile the things you're stuck with in gcc and look at how it's working in IDA?
Well, i guess that would be kinda lame ^^

Trying to start messing with this but I can't get it to work. I am trying to change the time limit, so I put the Data Type at 16 bytes, since max time is 500, and then write the time in hexadecimal (if its 300 then 12C). There appear a bunch of results, but when i search agan, for example for 250, nothing shows up. Am I doing anything wrong? In what part of the memory should start trying?

I have found so much with recent games to not take whatever you're changing at face value. It's probably a totally different value that is counting down at a different rate with different numbers. Hell, I figured out Smash Bros' countdown timer for the classic games actually counted up in a different value than what the screen showed (which counts down).

Mind sharing it later? I'm interested in freezing the timer in Sm4sh too, to unlock the challenges.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
