Something that was useful on the psp 1000 was that i could use it as a tv remote..

the 3ds got a IR blaster.. we could use it?
if it is possible let the user create the remote (point the remote to the 3ds, save the input and reproduce it when pressing the button, this way you don't have to deal with code lists or your rare brand tv not being on the list)

i like to play with my 3ds at night my family usually comes to the room, watches tv, doesn't turn it off (and i like the background noise\magical light on the room) and they leave the remote in a remote area (lol pun intended) so i have to search for it..
a 3ds homebrew would be usefull on this case

Why don't you have your dad make it a feature in 10.8/11.0?

It's been asked before. The firmware doesn't give us direct access to the IR blaster, so it would be difficult to do. It might be possible by rewriting part of the firmware.

Seriously this is like the 4th thread in under a week asking this very question people really need to start checking if their question has already been asked before asking the same thing again that is why the site has a search function so please use it in the future.

Sure you did.

That's a terrible reference to put on your resumé, why would you do that?

The search function on this site is utter trite for that sort of thing.

Bullshit try typing tv remote into the search and it brings up numerous past threads about it. I have never had a problem finding what I want with the search on here.

No, the search engine here sucks, there is nothing good to say about it.

Actually there's a dev retail application that tests the IR, it can receive data from tv remotes... No doubt we could tamper the data and send it back, thus making the 3DS a TV remote. It wouldn't be a arm11 userland homebrew though, I think it requires some higher permissions.
