If they could, they have done it for a year before now. Also, you can downgrade and have emunand forever or A9LH thanks to CN.Like I said before, that just makes me think a lot. I have a feeling Cubic Ninja will reach its end someday with a big update, but I have a feeling that Sky3DS would outlast it and it has the additional feature of try before you buy with 3DS games.
One word: AuReiNandAs the title and year apply, I wanted this thread to specifically aid those that are looking for a solution as much as I am and it will be an easier snag for them when they Google it.
Anyway, I want to get Sky3DS+ simply for the purpose of region unlocking. I disposed of my other one a while back cause, well, it became outdated. Now, I want it again so that I can play one of my favorite games from one of my favorite series that is unfortunately an import title.
I wanted to use NINJHAX, but it is just as expensive, actually more, than that of a Sky3DS+ and a MicroSD included, even. I heard Ocarina of Time has an exploit now, but I am mixed about that. What I want to know is if there are any similar to the (now defunct) tubehax or maybe another simple browserhax one.
I really do want to play that game again and miss being able to do so. What's the easiest method I can do in order to region unlock my device? Yes, I believe it does have the most current firmware, but I did hear that Sky3DS+ no longer uses the complex "disk write" process, or whatever it was called, and simplified it. I also hear that it is capable of withstanding firmware updates a lot now, too.

yes, *ding ding ding* we have a winner ! AuReinand! One word: AuReiNand
Just install AuReinand
AuReinand? You mean that thing that Favna suggested at the top of this page? Wow, I had no idea the 3DS wound up having this many ways to hack into it now, compared to the first time I looked into this a while back and it was much more intricate.
I suppose the New 3DS just made it a cakewalk, too, thanks to that MicroSD option. I used it for tubehax once.
Well like @cearp stated, ARN has it natively now and so there is no real need for HS patching. Especially since HS patching is limited to A9LH whilst ARN regionfree also works on menuhax (lol filthy casuals). Also last I checked CakesFW doesn't have build in regionfree just yet so the HS patch can be useful people people who prefer Cakes over ARN (not to bash, but I honestly wouldn't understand why)
It all comes down to personal preference really.
3 and 4 are the same thing. AuReinand is a CFW but since you are on 10.7 you still need OOT or cubic ninja to install it.Well, whatever is the easiest way, sign me up for it. But, let me see if I am figuring this out so far:
1) Ocarina of Time is simplest in cartridge terms, but requires CFW(?) and is a bit intricate if you are not too good at hacking.
2) Sky3DS+ allows me to get Cubic Ninja to activate NINJHAX.
3) CFW in general allows me to have an easier way in general to access the region unlocker.
And the most recent, though my understanding of this one is the more jumbled than the other three:
4) AuReinand allows for an even easier means of accessing the region unlocker in the menu.
I do not know what AuReinand is, though. Does that require CFW again or is it its own thing like tubehax where I just place it into my SD card, activate something that breaks 3DS code (or something) and just gotta do that every time I wish to play my import game?

Update the cards firmware first and then drop your roms in. It's that simple.
Edit: To update the firmware place the firmware bin on your sd card and then connect the sky3ds+ directly to your computer with the provided cable. It will install automatically. You know its done when the light stops blinking.
Wait, do you actually have OoT? It sounded like you have it, but are hesitant to flash the hack onto it.
OoT is just an entrypoint to open the doors to hacking: Once you're in, you no longer need the hack, and can just flash your old save back on OoT and continue playing the game like normal after hacking.
In the case that you do have OoT, your cheapest/easiest solution is to back up your save and flash the payload with a Powersaves: http://www.amazon.com/Action-Replay-PowerSaves-Pro-Nintendo-3DS/dp/B00IVJ1M7M (They also sell them at gamestop)
Or just flash it on with another hacked 3DS if you/someone you know happens to have one. A $15 powersaves is much cheaper than a $70 CN/flashcart. OoT can also be bought for $20: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/nintend...endo-3ds/4901083.p?id=bb4901083&skuId=4901083
Finally, once you get ahold of an exploitable game that gives you access to the Homebrew Channel (OoT, CN, or a Sky3DS emulating either of the two aforementioned games), you can follow this guide to achieve a permanent solution to homebrew/CFW/region-free, while still being able to update your system: https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki
Be warned though: The process can takes about 3-5 hours total. It's definitely worth the effort, though, and is completely safe as long as you follow every word of that guide without skipping steps.
Oh, but...I already got the Sky3DS now. I never had Ocarina of Time. I was just thinking of which method would benefit me the most and, in the end, it was thanks to the Sky3DS making the ROM process easier that I was convinced. Being region-free and allowing me to test out games before I buy them sounds like a good deal to me.
Some comments here are just outdated. OOT+PowerSaves is the way to join the A9LH master race! CFW gives you everything and free.
Sky3DS won't give you region free by itself, you'll need to run Cubic Ninja, exploit it, run HANS and then swap the game from Cubic Ninja to the real game you wanted to play.
You could use Sky3DS to install CFW, but then Sky is almost useless.
Yes, it is. RxTools allows all types of cias--unsigned, signed, from your region, from some other region. You install them with FBI or BBM or whatever. ReiNand + NTR allow the same thing together and I don't know what the shit is Aurelienand so maybeWhat about playing ROMs? Unless CFW is actually capable of storing those on the SD storage itself now.
