i use the version2.0.2 to delete a dlc tickets from list, but i found in GroovyCIA view,my ticket.db has the dlc title the same as before,so maybe fbi can not make the ticket to clean?
+1, want to know the result of that:mthr:. Not only dlc tickets, but also others.
If you download something from the e-shop it'll overwrite all the things you deleted using FBI.

If anyone is having trouble installing CIAs (including DLC), you can try this build. It deletes existing titles/tickets of the same title before installing, which might(?) help.

Can you elaborate?
I mistook this for HALO, but I am still having a problem with FBI anyway so here's what's happening

I'm on firmware 9.4.0.21E and I don't have a cfw or anything. Just homebrew. I've installed FBI onto my homebrew menu though whenever I open it it freezes. Here's what I see:

Setting up...
System type: Old
K0bject address: FFF7160C
Mapping pages for overwrite...
Overwrite complete.
Map complete.Restored kernel memory
Cleaning up...

and it's froze on the cleaning up process. Nothing happens.

Any help?

That means it didn't take all the way. Restart and try again.

You want it to say:
Cleaning up...
Done!

And then it will switch over to FBI.

In all honesty you should look into downgrading to 9.2 and getting CFW. It's not "Only" for piracy. Home brew usually works better when installed as CIA.

Ohh, so it's just a matter of trying to get it to work? I thought there was something wrong with my SD card or something lol. I would downgrade but I honestly don't have the slightest clue how to go about doing so.

Do you know anything about the HALO cia manager?

Halo? No idea. Did you mean NASA? BBM?

You are likely using an old and unofficial build of FBI; I don't think I've ever used a version of memchunkhax2 with that output in FBI.

The way I understand it FBI2 has more permissions needed than what the H&S app will allow, while FBI 1.4.17 had less, therefore it won't inject into H&S because it's "permissions" are not compatible.

The injected into H&S was only a stepping stone anyways and FBI was not meant to stay installed into H&S. If you want FBI2 then just install it the way you would any other CIA.

Thank you for the information. I usually stick to Plailect's guide. He has us keep the injected H&S app at the end, so I just always assumed I'd keep it like that and that is how I were to use it.

The only benefit to this is keeping FBI after doing a system format. if this sounds interesting to you, I'd keep your old FBI injected H&S and then use that to install the new FBI.

Thank you for the recommendation! I guess I was fearing a system update might remove FBI. I realize now I was being silly. But I like your thinking of keeping the older version injected just in case something messes up (although A9LH so no worries). Thanks again prototech! ^_^

Any chance we could get a NAND version of FBI that would persists through system formats? It would be useful when first setting up emuNANDs on new systems. Also when memory card is removed, corrupted or formatted. As of now I use a NAND version of DevMenu installed to sysNAND before creating the emuNAND so that it persists through the TinyFormat before downgrading it to 2.1.

Only way to have it persist through formats is H&S injection.

The latest version of Universal Inject Generator fixes FBI injection for 2.x (only with banner works for now, however), so H&S injection is once again possible.

EDIT: Also, FBI v2.0.3 has been released.
  • Add option to delete save secure values.
  • Clarify some text relating to directory action confirmations.
  • Fix overwriting existing files when pasting.
  • Fix updating FBI from within itself.

The new version is really nice, thanks for all the hard work @Steveice10 :)
I made a python version of the new sockfile protocol that works in Python 2 and 3: https://github.com/svanheulen/sockfile_python
The only issue it has is that if a CIA needs to be skipped (doesn't exist or no read permissions) then when all the other CIAs finish and it disconnects, FBI shows an error because it didn't receive as many CIAs as it was expecting. Maybe it would be useful to have FBI accept a file size of -1 to mean "skip this CIA"?

Let's say you have cia's designed for use only with Gateway in the same folders as other cia's FBI will freeze when it tries to add the cia for GW to the listing and you need to force power off holding power.

On latest version I just had a strange problem take place all I was installing was the dlc for Mario golf world tour. Fbi said cia install complete then I exited out of fbi and Mario golf was deleted from the home screen menu it still shows in fbi under titles but selecting it brings up a error saying sd card has been removed. I know the dlc cia is fine because I reinstalled Mario golf with bbm then installed the dlc with bbm and it played fine so out of interest I deleted the game and reinstalled it with fbi game played fine so I tried the dlc again with fbi and the same thing happened where it does not show the game on homescreen and launching it with fbi gives the sd card has been removed error. Any other dlc I try for other games works perfectly

Hello, on the latest 2.0.4 Version, I can't install anything over SocketPunch "I've also posted the issue on socketpunch's side"
This is the current error i get when installing any cia over the network.
