Why have I followed this guide perfectly, but still can't block wii u updates? I tried DNS filtering, applying domain blocks on my router, using tubehax's dns on both primary and secondary, and nothing works. I really need some help guys

how do you know it didn't work ? there's no new update.
If you have an old system version, maybe you can see the update download progress?

It has been said many times that OpenDNS is dangerous and can't be trusted.
It's better to use tubehax DNS. setting the tubehax DNS on both DNS settings should work. if you are already on latest console's version you can't see if it works or not.

edit :
well, you can, by launching the browser and trying to go to youtube.com or one of the nintendo's blocked address.

I haven't updated the guide in forever, and there may be at least one more domain that needs to be added. @brienj I believe it was you who said that there was a URL that when blocked would make it so that the Wii U wouldn't ever even be able to connect to the list for updates in the first place, do you remember what that was?

If an update comes out after you have blocked that address, your Wii U will NEVER know about it. However, if your Wii U already knows about an update before you block that address, it will still know about it, even after blocking it.

Thank you. For anyone looking at this guide that is on 5.5.1, I HIGHLY recommend adding this to your list of domains, whether it be router blocking (recommended) or DNS blocking

Do you happen to know if blocking this address alone would be able to prevent updates off 5.5.1? I'd really like to avoid blocking the CDN itself with my DNS servers if there's a safe way to go about it.
