Hacking R4 on a 2DS

Hello all!

I have today bought an R4 card for 2DS. its a 2016 R4 SDHC card, that says 3DS & DSI on it.

I'm just wondering how I go about setting it up on a 2DS, It's been a long time since I've done this, and last time was on a DS Lite, anyone know how to set it up?.

I use emuNAND ver 10.6 too, sysNAND is currently at ver 6.0 and I also use rxTools. I'm only supplying information as I would also like to know which ever route I take, if it would also be safe to use given the above information.

I use TWLSlot1Launcher for my acekard2I and it works, and i can run my R4I Silver from 2011 normally through the typical cart launcher. not sure about the 2016 model of R4, but it should work fine on the latest build of rxtools 3.0

Setup the flashcart microSD with the files from its website. Put it in the 3ds and boot it, same as a DSi.
The CFW/ firm of the 2ds shouldn't matter with that DS flashcart you have. Nintendo stopped DSi AP updates in 2013.

Well, earlier on, I found this website with info on my card

And on there it talks about using moonshine. I used moonshine on my DS lite, and find it quite simple, but I think that website isn't taking into account any emuNAND's or lower sysNANDs so I can't really be too sure

So this won't affect any emuNAND or games I have installed on my 2DS already?

I've done said method, and I get a notification saying can't open _dsmemu.dat

What can I do to get around this

if possible, start with the software from the URL that's printed on the cartridge's label.

"R4" is a generic name that's used by a ton of different manufacturers who use their own variations of cartridge software. there is no singular R4 company, nor any cartridge software that'll work on all the different "R4" cards; although many of them may use cartridge labels, packaging, websites, etc that are nearly indistinguishable from each other. so that's why the company's URL is key.

Well I tried downloading software from the actual website, and winrar tells me that basically, parts were missing, and I end up with two items from the downloaded software, a folder called patch, and _ns-menu.dat

But, the DS tells me that ns menu dat could not be loaded, so I'm not so sure, I'd presume, it's behaving as if the menu dat file isn't updated or so on, but, that's just a wild guess really

if winrar gives you any kind of error, then it's a bad download. either something went wrong when you downloaded it, or the file residing on the website is corrupted.

if re-downloading doesn't fix it, then perhaps try to contact the manufacturer through their website to see if they can provide you with a working copy of the software. or maybe they can be prompted to remove the broken copy they've posted and replace it with a working one.

may i ask what's the URL of their website? if it's r4isdhc.com.cn, try this:

If its a recent clone, it probably appears as a bomberman game and doesnt need any twl launcher to work. Will start fine in latest 10.7

Right, I've done this, and now, when I try to get to rxtools from sysnand and hold L, it doesn't do anything other than show me like a player card style thing.

What should I do now, I've no idea how to do most of this stuff, someone please help!
