Just a quick question, read all about the downgrading process and the use of safe/sysupdater, i genereally reads that you can downgrade, but it seems upgrading to a new firmware will brick the 3ds, is this true, and if, how do you upgrade to firmware 10.3 Sysnand without bricking it?

You don't need to update to 10.3 to downgrade. Just downgrade directly. That whole update to 10.3 isn't really true. (also 100th post! For a second time...)

downgrade will hardly start on the japanese n3ds that i have, this is why i want to try doing it under another firmware, and you could at least answer the question about upgrading the firmware, will it brick by updating through sysupdate to sysnand or not?

I have a different idea, buy Zelda OOT (unless you already own it)

Install the 10.7 payload then upgrade to 10.7 firmware then use OOThax to run the 10.6 version of sysupdater

Did that last night on a fiends O3DS that was on latest firmware.

Sometimes that just happens with sysupdater

Reboot your system and try again

done that tons of times, and it fails on that particular file each time

Yes you can downgrade directly from 9.9 ;) The first 3ds I tried to downgrade took like 57 reboots because sysupdater kept crashing, but it worked the 58th time So keep trying ;)

the downgrade process have been tried 20-30 times now, and crashes each time, are the Japanese N3Dses worse to downgrade an let say a US model?
