Do you guys know a place where I could get a Mac laptop that will run El Capitan on the lower price spectrum? I don't care if it's old as long as it can run El Capitan. Don't care if it's refurbished, is missing HDD, etc. I have SSDs I could put in.

Thanks; I've tried searching but haven't had much luck.

Most everyone over charges when it comes to any used Mac, especially the laptops. Your best bet is checking if any government offices or universities sell their old computers. I know the university I went to did and they actually sold their old Macs for reasonable prices.

Do you specifically need a Mac laptop? If not have you considered making a hackintosh? People at http://www.tonymacx86.com/ actually make some pretty good guides and I have personally made three hackintoshs off of their guides that all work great and cost significantly less that an equally powered iMac.

I could use a Hackintosh laptop, but the bottom line is I'd like a laptop.

There is a section on http://www.tonymacx86.com/laptops/ that has laptops that people have successfully converted into hackintoshs. Maybe it's worth taking a look since you can probably find a used PC laptop for much cheaper than a used Mac.

How cheap is "cheap"?

You can get some of the older core2duo Macbooks for rather cheap, around $300-$400 (usually) that are in good-ish condition. AFAIK, El Capitan will run on any 2009+ which can go pretty "cheap" for Macbooks. You should find hundreds and hundreds of them around on eBay (I would know, I spent a good 2-3 weeks looking for a late 2011 model for my older sister that was also on the cheap).

Notice how I said "laptop"
I don't have any decent laptops that would run well with El Capitan. I've already had OS X setup on my desktop before, but I'd like a laptop.

You answered your own Question i think you forgot that the term PC is Personal Computer

The link did not say desktop
Neither did I

Also you contradict yourself when you said you dont have any.
When your thread is about BUYING a cheap mac

My school issued us Macbook Airs that run excellently. I'm not exactly sure what model they are (probably fairly new considering it was a grant) but for being as tiny as they are you wouldn't expect them to be able to handle Skyrim on its highest settings.
