Piracy piracy piracy, is it piracy that dev worried about? Why are they judging everyone just want to play pirated games?
I'm not worried about privacy, personally, I'm worried that there's a lot more potential aside from it that nobody's really realizing

Quote my post form another similar thread:

"...Take an example of 3DS latest firmware 10.6. No free entry point to Homebrew launcher. So you want developers show all cards to Nintendo while that may mean next update requires a specific game with specific version to exploit the Wii U in case the kitty updates accidentally update your Wii U to latest firmware!

More whining asking free exploit entry point. The developer can't win either way...

One more thing: what if NX gonna be a big thing as Wii or PSP or (insert your favorite here)..., and NX has Wii U hardware + similar/identical vulnerabilities as Wii U. Wii U scene is dead?! Okay. Let it rest in spaghetti.

If the exploits are still valuable for future then logically it should be kept for the future. No need to release all the exploits now, then NX comes out and people bugging developers about lacking of free entry point"

it s off topic but i have a question,if isou come out and got my wiiu hacked thx to dev,if new game need newer firmware do there will be an way to false sign an modified new update to play those games.
There something called EMUNAND (also not the only thing!) that Hykem was/is trying to implement with IOSU exploit for the release that take care of new update...

I figured that future consoles wouldn't have any major exploits. I didn't even bother buying any next gen systems to keep a low firmware. I've pretty much lost faith in the scenes. The devs who can crack the systems are either too moral, to AP, or Chinese profiteers. It doesn't help that Sony went crazy with the PS3 exploit and showed that they could have people locked up in every country. Sony really killed my faith in consoles all together.

The keys were leaked. So basically if you're capable you can implement your own ISOU exploit. And if you have ISOU exploit, what's good is it alone without developing environment for for high level programming language. Throwing out a big exploit and wait for other programmers to learn to program in low level language while Nintendo patches it, Is that what you want?

You complain, but you don't even know what you're complaining about.

In the past MONTHS, the only thing remarkable I recall being released was LiteNESU, an NES emulator (which still requires quite a lot of work but it's an awesome proof of concept). All I seem to see are promises never being fulfilled, for example, a long time ago, I recall a dev claiming they had an exploit that would work on the latest firmware version (whatever it was at that time), but it never came. What about the IOSU exploit? How late is that...oh, you know, 3 or 4 months now! It's gotten to the point where I don't believe someone possess an exploit until it's officially released. And don't say I have no respect for devs; trust me, I have immense respect for them, they're the ones that breath life into the homebrew/hacking scene, and I am nowhere near capable of what they are. But it seems that we're at a standstill in which no one wants to release anything, be it for personal benefit or "it's not necessary at this time", and I don't see a remotely-near future in which a significant increase in devs/development for exploits and homebrew occurs, in fact, the Wii U scene could be dead right now. Anyone else share these opinions? Any arguments? Also, check out this thread: http://gbatemp.net/threads/discussion-why-5-5-x-is-ready-for-its-kexploit.418062/
So here's my essential question: Is the Wii U scene doomed, or is it just in a bad place for the time being?

Don't mistake this for a complaint thread about the IOSU exploit. It was just an example.

I think it is honestly,I mean we already have loadiine so while IOSU is nice I truly do not see that much of a point. The wii U lacks titles and I feel like overall we were cheated out of a positive console experience like nintendo. All i want is a normal console that plays nintendo games. I want sportsgames, cod, and others to keep releasing on the nintendo.

As I've said, region locking. A Wii u costs 500$ in my country so I got a USA one.
Why you get USA Wii U when you're in Europe? If you have $500 to import an USA Wii U then oh well... not make sense to getting USA game to update when you're at it (If not mistaken the highest game update is 5.4 which is also exploitable)

In my country an eur Wii u costs 500$, so I got one from Canada for half of that.

That's good. Still you should have taken this into account and get a game with the right update with it when you order the Wii U. You already saved $250.

Anyways, wish developer with port your firmware or IOSU exploit would be available in the future.

Is one of the potentials Unity for Wii U? Because 1) That doesn't involve piracy, and 2) It's bringing out a completely new branch of game development for people like me who want to use the kexploit (and/or IOSU) for the said Unity puropse and show their creativity with the Wii U's hardware. It's all I really care about, to be honest... ;)

Actually the wii U still count as a "new" console, so i guess the wii u hacking scene is yet ahead.
let me remind you how much time past from the ds+3ds release and until the CFW, the flashcards and the hombrews got developed.

Here's the thing with homebrew scenes - be it the Wii U or the ZX Spectrum - they're only as strong as the developer support available.

What makes the 3DS scene so strong? Two things. Firstly, accessibility. It is very easy to run homebrew on the 3DS regardless of firmware version, and it can be run using simple exploited saves. It is striking that so many 3DS developers are actually perfectly happy just using the Homebrew Launcher (notably MasterFeizz, StapleButter etc.), all the additional stuff such as A9LH is just a bonus. The initial accessibility is by far the most important aspect for appealing to developers. And secondly, a homebrew SDK (for obvious reasons).

An example of a failing scene is the Vita scene. The sheer difficulties of getting Rejuvenate running on your machine are pretty daunting - it was difficult even for me, who is pretty used to this stuff, and that assumes you're on a compatible firmware. As a result, the platform is unappealing to developers, nothing gets developed, and users flatline as a result.

So we probably do need more developments to make the Wii U more accessible for homebrew. Not for the sake of the whining users, but to get developers on board. That's why I fully supported Hykem's decision to postpone the Wii U exploit release until ann SDK was ready, the environment was created to make it user-friendly etc. The reported issues with Hykem getting his stuff confiscated throws a spanner in the works.

What games have 5.3.2 or 5.4 on them?

That signature. Please remove it.

For the topic: Take a cup of tea and wait. There will be homebrew for sure.

5.3.2
USA:
Splatoon
Mario Party 10
LEGO Jurassic World
Yoshi's Woolly World

5.4
Mario Maker
Super Smash Bros USA version but made in Japan (Check back of the case if buying new; or check on the bottom of the disc buying used)

Well explained and well said. I have same thought, but couldn't saying it as well as you.

In short, IOSU exploit release without SDK environment, EMUNAND... is only useful for Nintendo to patch it in next update!!!

I only want the IOSU to create a Linux port for WiiU, just imagine what we will be able to do with Linux and a Gamepad *O*
Playing little PC games with Gamepad streaming in my bed

Yeah, first everyone was waiting for userspace on 4.0.0 to 5.1.0, then everyone was waiting for userspace on 5.3.2, then everyone was waiting for a public kernel exploit so they could pirate everything after MrBean and MN1 made ones last February, and now everyone's waiting for IOSU kernel on 5.5.1 so they can pirate even easier. Makes perfect sense >.> There's never been a scene cause everyone has their head too far up their ass except for five different people making everything now that there's some form of public kernel
Point taken, I apologize.
