Hacking Smash bros Modding and 5.3.2

Everyone says that you need 5.3.2 to mod smash bros. But every guide on your website seems to imply 5.4 and 5.3.2 have the same features. Is there something I'm missing? Furthermore, someone on craigslist says he's hacking WiiUs for $ and that it will make you play any games with USB device. Does that imply that he knows the private exploit for 5.5.1? Will I be able to mod smash if I use his services?

No, both 5.3.2 and 5.4.0 have access to the kernel exploit for game modding though SDCafiine (it's the one game that can use it), they just use different entrypoints (one uses the old HTML exploit, and the new one uses the libstagefright MP4 exploit) when running it from the browser. Nothing can access USB right now

Ah I misread his post, he said he needs a SD card of 2-16 gig. So why do people say you need 5.3.2 if 5.4 works?

Just cause more people stayed behind that entrypoint so they still had access to both userspace (this was before libstagefright was released) and kernel
I found someone selling a 5.4.0 Wii U, should I take it? Do you have a link to set up smash mods for 5.4.0? I'm searching forums but I don't see anything specific for this.

Basically, you're gonna need to make SDCafiine into an MP4, with either this or this.
Here's the latest version AFAIK, and I attached a binary from the HTML file, should work. Then you just run the kernel exploit from here until it exits out of the browser, then go back in and browse to SDCafiine, should exit again, then you can insert the SD card and load Smash
Has SDCafiine for 5.4 been released?
OS didn't change so it doesn't need any patches, just a separate entrypoint via MP4 like above ^

If I would want to convert it to 5.5/5.5.1 MP4 for when that kernal exploit is released, is it the same procedure?

That application is actually one of the few that requires a bit of work for 5.4.0. Caffiine will work, but something about the installer code for this SD modification just does not agree with 5.4.0 systems.

Unless NWPlayer123 has modified sdcafiine.c, and I assume that's just a straight compile, if you try to run that on a 5.4 system, the initial menu screen will garble and crash.

I see why, you need to run the IM_Close shutdown code for OSScreen to work properly :\ hold on, gonna do some magic
EDIT: Try this, no idea if it works but it *should*

That did fix the initial menu, but white screen crash exiting out of it.

Probably because I forgot to update the base address, 5.3.2 uses e0, 5.4.0 uses like dd, and 5.5.X uses dcc
