Help with retron 2

so i bought this retron 2 at a thrift store near my house they guy said he tested it so i bought it. I got home at it turns out it didnt have the the power supply that plugs into the DC port. Does the retron 2 work with off brand power adapters

we went to a local game store and tried a 3 in one adapter that works on genisis nes ans snes it didn't work

you cant just cram an adapter in there you will fry it the console says very clearly dc12v 2000mA for example thats what you need a 12v adapter if thats the case

dude the guy at the game store pushed it in it fit we didn't cram it fit snug in the console

i think you are misunderstanding dude the connector doesnt need to fit it has to supply the right amount of power. i could plug a playstation power cord into my laptop but it wont work because of OUTPUT
