Hardware General Downgrade Question

hello people

i was just wondering how a 3ds that comes with 10.3 like the 20th anniversary pkmn can be downgraded to 9.2? is it because they just use the same parts and motherboard as the previous/ other editions?

They can be downgraded because of the version. So for example, 10.5 / 10.6 cannot be downgraded because in those versions, they block the exploit used to be able to downgrade.

10.5 / 10.6 can be downgraded via hardmod and patching a few files.

The software is exploitable, 10.4 they had patched it. Native Firm wasn't patched so 10.4 / 10.6 can still be downgraded, via hardware only.
