We are looking for users who could make nice icons for homebrew.
I make ftpiiu, loadiinegx2 and homebrew launcher very quickly/badly.
If you feel like making better icons, please don't hesitate !
I'll try to make some once I get home. It's 7 AM in my country. I'll get home at about 4 or 5.

thanks for the icons.
I don't like the "homebru" icon, because it's feels like it's missing some letters but I guess maybe homebreU would look bad too.
Maybe just go with the full name and the icon.

Homebrew U Homebrew | |
Launcher or Launcher \_/

But again, it's not called "homebru" or "homebrew launcher U".
not everything on wiiU need to be called "U" or "iine".

I'll let dimok tell us what he think about the submitted icons too.

Questions:

1) What is the difference between the homebrew launcher and the loadiine? According to the images, they are both homebrew launchers.

2) what is the success rate of launching the web exploit? Besides, does it mean that once we have accessed the web exploit we do not need it anymore even if we switch games or exit the game and relaunch the homebrew launcher?

3) Hope there would be an offline homebrew launcher in the future.

Anyway thanks so much dimok and cyan. It is always a blessing having you guys in gbatemp. And hopefully there would be a iosu release soon so that it will make homebrew more convenient and user friendly. The requirement of updating the firmware of the game console in order to be able to play games is always a nuisance. This is something I really care about cuz a lot of people would like to keep their console firmware as low as possible.

1) Loadiine launches games, or if you talk about the exploit itself it launched a single elf file located in loadiine gx2 folder and named loadiine_gx2.elf
You would have to replace your elf file everytime if you want to launch another homebrew.

Homebrew launchers launches multiple homebrew with a single exploit. you don't need to reboot and visit multiple different URLs for every games or tools you want to launch.
one exploit URL which load the homebrew launcher, from here you can run all homebrew directly from the SD card (offline) and exit back to the launcher without the need to reboot to launch another homebrew.

2) Success rate is the same as before, as the current released exploit is always the same kernel exploit (the race attack).
And yes, it means you don't need to re-launch the exploit again to switch game or homebrew, just one exploit for all your session.

3) It could be offline, if you cache the exploit page.
then the exploit would launch even without internet, just open the browser which display the cached file.
Attention, on next exploit update it will still load the cached one instead of the updated one.

@ all users:
I don't know why the loadiine gx2 didn't work.
I haven't tested it myself, maybe dimok used a recompiled version specifically for HBL.
if that's the case, loadiine will be updated soon to make it compatible.

@vgmoose;
For other coding related questions, I'll let dimok answer them.

We "just" need to have this on boot and happiness forever, well, at least until Uncharted 4 gets released...
Great job Dimok, thank you.

So I took a shot at making a banner/logo for this, not the worst thing I've ever made. Ive attached a zip containing the pdn, tga and a bmp (yeah I did this in paint.NET - don't have photoshop at work) @Cyan @dimok

all current exploit are based on the browser, and you need to be online.
so you need online for the homebrew launcher, then you can run homebrew from your card without online anymore.

if you manage to keep the exploit page in the browser cache, you can run it offline.

Is there a compatible version of this homebrew with HBL? can you link it to me please

@Cyan or @dimok
The future homebrews with be compatible with both 5.3.2 & 5.4.0 and any future support firmware with HBL, or for each firmware will be a specific release of that homebrew? !

I don't know to tell the browser to keep something in cache. maybe that's only temporary until console shutdown? in that case, it's not useful.

I set it up to auto load the exploit. It launches it even when I'm not connected to the internet. It's a pain to change it though, So I don't know how much its worth it. Maybe moreso now with a viable Homebrew Launcher.

I'm on my way to work, if the interest is there, I'll provide some instructions later. You have to be able to self host to set it up though.
