Hi. I have a soft modded Wii mode on Wii U and the latest Nintendont dol on an SD card (/apps/Nintendont/boot.dol). I have the games and controllers folder on a powered USB HDD (/games/title/game.iso and /controllers/config files, respectively). I load the games via USB Loader GX and or Nintendont no problem, but they don't seem to recognize the wiimote. Even when I have a classic controller pro plugged into the wiimote. Any suggestions??

I had the same problem. I was using a cheap bootleg wiimote I found online. I switched to an official one and it worked.

I thought I had an official one, but I might not.

Any suggestions on where to buy or how to tell if official or not?

An official wiimote will look like this, if instead of "wii" at the bottom you have some offbrand logo - it is not official

How sure are you that you have the latest nintendont rev?

I used the main Nintendont forum under Wii u hacks and home brew. There is a link on there to the latest.

get the lastest .dol from here and let me know if it clears up your issue. https://github.com/FIX94/Nintendont/tree/master/loader

Works thanks!!

Now do you know anything about getting not64 to work on Wii mode of Wii U? I have everything according to tutorial but no matter what ROM or format of ROM I use it tells me "invalid ROM type" when I try to load ROM. I even had one load and when I left and went back into the app it gave me the error.

Again make sure you get the latest rev https://github.com/Extrems/Not64/releases

There are instructions here https://github.com/Extrems/Not64

It says in the link above that .z64, .v64 and .n64 are all supported

What is the rev labelled as on github? Seems to be a lot of stuff you don't need from a github repo

Instructions do not seem to have been updated since wii64, do I follow same instructions but just label folders not64 instead of wii64?

Sorry for all the n00b questions

Also there seems to be a not64.dol on the root section of the zipped folder, why is that? Do I put that on the root of the SD card or is that the one I re label as boot.dol and put in the SD:apps/not64/ folder?

extract the .zip to the root of the sd card and place games in sd:\not64\roms, let me know if you still can't get it working

Try a couple roms

I'm not sure what the other dol is, but my guess is that it's an older rev - in any case you can ignore it
