Hacking Newbie Question

Hi,

I have a RGH'd slim xbox360 which was done(not by me) in May 2012 hasn't been used recently but now kids want to play the newer games.

They don't seem to work I assume because I need to do an update can some kind person point me to the tutorial I need and how do I find out my current version of Free Style Dash? (which I use to launch games).

There seems to be some sort of automated get kernel get update type screen in FSD can I use that or do I need to manually update?

FSD doesn't need to be updated, you could do it tho.

It shouldn't be much of a problem to do, infact, it's quite easy once you done it.

Just reading through it now there are 4 options for 'updating your console' I am not familiar with these, can I choose any option or is there an obvious option I should use please?
