OK, after playing both copies of the Japanese and English versions. Below are a few comparisons of Japanese vs English screens and it's not looking good, I can say there's a LOT of things they've taken out from the English one aside from the petting game were all familiar with.

For one, customization options for female has also been censored down to be more Nintendo friendly.

Original Japanese lewdness including the word Sexy, has been completely censored out from the English files, so no touchy and slang words. The tutorial is made super easy for English version as well, the Japanese one had no hand holding sadly and assumed you knew what you were doing (Typical).

Aside from the fact that some lewd shots of Camilla have also been censored or cropped out (Damn that sister complex) don't expect the support conversations to flow the same way. Some of the support talk even has some cringe worthy dialogue which I'll refrain from spoiling and has been completely edited to be family friendly.

The romance in support conversations that had slight sexual innuendo jokes has been completely taken out as well. So be warned.

As for the petting game, holy fuck. The Japanese might have had really kinky dialogue and conversations that suited with the flow of actions, but prepare to bite a pillow when trying to wonder how certain characters get aroused from thin air/context doesn't match. Example: Invited into your room with your waifu and suddenly a black screen fade and they leave blushing and a text message saying 'Affection has increased with X' . Inb4Threesome

Did I mention the death moans files that were anywhere near to a 'moan' were taken out too? Get killed as a woman, and behold the cries of Xena the barbarian. Seriously. What the heck Nintendo.

Overall Rating? From Rated M to Rated PG. GOOD JOB Ninty.

different regions, different audiences, different sensitivities.
Nintendo would leave things as they were if they had a choice.
We should have a choice to get the other dialogue say if we have a nnid saying we were over 16-18

They should make it available in some way if not by default.

It's a video game. It tells a story, and it isn't required to be mature. If you wanna have Lewd Simulator 20XX, then go play the fan dub, or some more lewd game on your PC, or watch hentai or something. The lack of sexy times in a Nintendo game shouldn't influence the playability of the game.

There's a reason the stuff was removed, and it's not censorship - different things are socially acceptable in Japan and America. Face rubbing isn't socially acceptable.

I really don't see all this "censorship" drama - all the face rubbing and mature stuff would likely deter people who aren't massive weebs from playing the game anyways. Massive weebs are pretty much the only ones who care about the face rubbing and lewd stuff. Most others just want to play the game.

There's a reason it has American voice acting: oh yeah, we live in America. Not everyone hates dubbing like anime fans do so much. Same goes - Japanese language and the lack of a dub would confuse non-weebs.

What they could've and should've done is released some DLC pack or patch or something on the eShop that adds back in the face rubbing and sexy crap and Japanese voices. Fire Emblem Fates: Massive Weeaboo Version.

TL;DR: The game isn't designed to cater to your weeb lewd face rubbing crap. Get over it.

I couldn't agree and disagree more.

It depends on what you see the media as and what you want to enjoy it as. I want to enjoy this as art, not a conduit of profit for another organization. I want to enjoy the game as it was originally intended. Not some watered down version that was censored so that its new intended audience can enjoy it more. I want to play the game with the cut content, not so that it becomes, as you put it, lewd simulator 20xx, but so that I can enjoy it as it was intended.

If we just wanted something lewd, we would just watch porn in the next tab. We (me) want to play the game localized, not censored

Ps, I'm all for the Fire Emblem Fates: Massive Weeaboo Version DLC. If it's free. You shouldn't have to pay for cut content that's in another region's game.

The fact that the game lacks lewd stuff doesn't affect the main story, or pretty much anything about the game other than dialogue and a single minigame. It's still perfectly playable and it isn't any worse without face rubbing and moaning sounds.

The thing to remember about video games is that, yes, they can be a form of art, but generally aren't created that way. Aside from the indie devs making their passion projects, video games are created to be a product, and products are modified to suit each region. That's just how it is. The Soleil controversy? Well there was considerable truth to the "drugging" aspect of it, so it's been rewritten. NOthing new, especially if you consider how many of Awakening's supports were re-written as well. The petting minigame? Skinship isn't as much of a trope in America, and could be considered highly sexual or creepy here. You still get to see the cool animations and such.

I am against censorship, especially when it's unnecessary. But hey, thanks to things like Hans and CFW and whatnot, you can enjoy your original JP game with a fan-translation. Hell, last I heard, they were even going to rework their patch to work with the US release. Go play that!

Man let's start at the point if they don't want to take a ecchi game to west, DO NOR TRANSLATE THE ECCHI GAME pick some other, create a new one (like the stuff about mario 2 on nes? idk) it have the change to be good as the original or a junk but well, they don't want to bring an ecchi game, but they want it changing a ecchi game to something else? bleh
Not saiying FE is just ecchi but sadly it got much of it but is how the developer team mad eit, the location don't have the right to change as their desire because wasn't what they like
It's stupid like they don't want a ninja game but they localize it as an magical spy(?) game because te team doesn't like ninja xp isn't the mature theme the problem, these teams are childish with these acts ... Do you know the "Totaly RAD" game ? why they don't amke a new game isnetad of put so much MURIKA on the original one? lol

I like to compare game localization as piece of art.... would be nice if someone think that Mona Lisa need to me made blond to be shown in US ? they need to change her clothes and etinic to me shown in India? China? pff
Or that Roman status needed to be dressed so it's no problem to be shown to kids
oh well they did it on castlevania... twice ...

Man it's not about hurr we need the ecchi on the game!! so we can fap wile petting our waifu!!
I don't like the amie stuff too but I don't think it's necessari to take it out... was like they created the game, it being bad or not... its like trying to censor a porn movie to be shown to kids(kids, don't click... :v), just let it for the adults, it was created for them xp

you say that but almost all the times we get a game translated to portuguese, we don't give us DUb , they just leave the english ...mostly time no undub/other languages options as well, and we live in Brazil, so yeah? I agree that It's nice to have dub BUT the option to have the original is a thing that must be on every thing on this kind of media
(I understand in this case have not because have a lot of text changing and it wuldn't match the removed/changed things if someone know at leats a bit of what are hearing ..)

What they could've and should've done is released some DLC pack or patch or something on the eShop that adds back in the face rubbing and sexy crap and Japanese voices. Fire Emblem Fates: Massive Weeaboo Version.
wanting stuff like the original is being weaaboo, wanting stuFFcensores is what? DEMOCRACYYYY!!!!!!!!11111
het your stuff right man, is not because you don't agree something that it's wrong or a bad thing ¬¬ you have the right to not like it but not that say wo doen't do it are junk

The problem I had was without the content, some dialogue was cringe worthy or just didn't make sense. As to the "drugging" scandal, some one in Japan made a video about that saying that that wasn't how it was being portrayed. A similar "scandal" happened over an Australian KFC comercial that portrayed Africans in a way that would have been deemed as racist in America but not in Australia, as the idea that Africans like fried chicken wasn't known in Australia.

Also, I'm glad for plugins +fan dubs. Looking forward to that.

I wanted so much to give Nintendo a chance with this one, I ignored all the censored dialogue and bought Awakening and I was planning to ignore the censored dialogue AND the removal of the mini-game this time and buy Fates.

But then they removed the Dual-audio that I praised so much in Awakening, so now I gave up, I´m going to play the fantranslate with all its lewd script, lewd voices and lewd mini-games.

I know that they probably didn´t have much choice with the dual-audio, since it would be hell with so many famous Seiyuu and the matter of the Idol Debut Song. But if they didn´t chopped so much of the other aspects, maybe I would give it a chance, but now the western version cut off a lot of things that attracted me and I simple don´t care for it anymore.

At the end, I think I will probably buy a Japanese copy to support their work. Since I like a lot the FE series, but I hate the localization work it receives every time.

I THOUGTH I WAS THE ONLY BRAZILIAN!!! lol
Man every gamer friend group I when they are so much " it's not that bad "or that "you care too much" but every game that don't have the opition or I undub it at least... some lack of emotion on english dub make me don't want to play something anymore lol

sometimes I think that people that work with games don't really like games xp

That sounds about right for most weebs. Looks like I found myself a new sig quote!
I think the same would apply if the game were Russian, German or French. It is not about some Japanese fanaticism, it is just that the original content is way fucking better.
Look:

Come on, tell me you can bear that VA with a straight face.
Tell me you don't wanna puke while you listen that.
Tell me all that, and then I will be sure you have some kind of psychological problem.
