Have you/dimok decided what music is going to be in Gx2?
I no think they could use any of the ones suggested before, most of them are private/copyrighted...

And guys, you really need to make the distinction between a background ambiant sound track for a GUI, and "a song I like hearing while playing/walking/working". And no, a keygen sound is definitely not proper for a GUI :D.

Like I said, the Mii Maker & Xbox 360 Avatar Editor music is absolutely perfect, but copyright reasons say they can't include it in the package.

Yeh those are good for a GUI, not so distracting.
I also like the 3Ds network settings bg sound :
So yeah if we could find something royalty free similar to these, it would be nice.

You guys can look in this website : http://audiojungle.net/
For example these : http://audiojungle.net/search?category=music-packs/ambient/chill
If you can find a good one there for a GUI background that would be cool, they usually cost around $20 so it's affordable.

If my understanding of copyright is correct, then you should be able to include any of the Wii U system music by default if you chose to.

The Wii U system music is licensed for use on a Wii U console, and Loadiine is being used on a Wii U console, and is distributed for free.
Same principle as the (former) Project M Dev Team only adding/changing characters already licensed for use in the Smash series.

Am I correct?

I am having a problem where pressing X on MiiMode does not launch the game. None of the buttons but home do anything, and I'm really stuck on what to do here. Running v2, 5.4.0. I would be testing Loadiine v3, but all that appears is "URL not found'.

Try this package. Remember not to rename anything, not even payload.mp4, or it won't work.

I'm not sure if you could use something like this as the theme music for the GUI. @Cyan, @dimok here is download free, royalty free ambient loop:

http://www.flashkit.com/loops/Ambient/Slip_Str-Joshua_H-10426/index.php

I think it's pretty soft and it would not distract users, and it's only 650 kB, but anyway, on this site there's plenty of free loops to download. Hope you can find something that will suite your needs.

Best regards,
Davor

Small size, not distracting and perfectly loopable. That's very good for a GUI, but I think it sounds a bit depressing :S maybe it's just me.

Well, I thought that something cheerful would be much more distracting and will put itself upon. Anyway, there are many loops on that site, so they can choose something else, if this is not what they look for.

I don't know what you mean by cheerful, but see nintendo sounds, they aren't depressing nor distracting.

So is this for choosing the default theme sound. Are we able to change this ourselves once it's released?
It should be quiet easy to change surely I believe. Unless dimok uses a more unusual format than mp3, in that case the user would only need to convert.

I think it should be as easy as placing the file on SD card and tell the loader to stream it.
Of course, at first/beta release it will not work like this, but it can be done later (like USBLoaderGX, you can set a different BG sound, or even play multiple sound files from a folder)

Cyan have you talked with dimok about implementing an option to run games directly from a disc? That would be pretty cool, i know this isnt going to be implemented in the first beta but maybe later
