It depends on how you currently get into rxTools. If you use a boot manager, you can just put the ReiNand files in their proper places on their SD card and add ReiNand to your boot menu. Keep in mind that once you update your emunand, you won't be able to boot rxTools anymore, but once they enable 9.6+, you can switch back and forth with your boot manager.

Your best bet may be to look at this phenomenal guide by @wurstpistole located here. You can skip most of the stuff about setting up an emunand, just go straight to the "Installing Menuhax, CFW, and CTRBootManager" section. You may need to fiddle with the bootfix in CTRBootManager to get ReiNand to boot consistently (I use 16 and get a good rate, others have it work fine with 8, some need 60), but it's a good setup and easy to do.

EDIT: Unless you reformat your SD card, I'm pretty sure you shouldn't lose any of your .cia games.

Do i still need to do the change theme thing along with the db fix? This guide is basically telling me how to set up a new cfw. So can i just copy the file over to the sd card without over writing files? how to i edit my boot.3dsx to add reinand or does that just happen automatically when i add the file in the spots

You shouldn't need to change your theme or add the dbs files if you already have menuhax set up and you've already unlinked your NANDs. Once you get the ReiNand files in the right place on the SD card, just open CTRBootManager (if that's what you use) and go to "More," then "File browser," then find the ReiNand.dat file and press [X] to add it to your boot menu. Then you can go into "Settings" and change your default to Reinand (if you want), and adjust the bootfix (if necessary). I'm not sure if you'll need to manually adjust the offsets, but if you do, I think you have to do that from the boot.cfg file from your PC. Just make sure it has the same offsets as rxTools (0x12000).

EDIT: If you change a setting while using CTRBootManager, it should change the boot.cfg file automatically. You can also change it from your PC, and those changes will take effect when you next start the manager. I think that's the only way to change offsets (via PC), but I could be wrong. I'd say set up ReiNand in the boot manager, then shut down, take your card out, and adjust the boot.cfg file to fix the offsets.

So basically i just put the rei folder and files in the same locations as the rxtools and thats it pretty much for moving files? Im not 100% sure which bootmgr i use but im sure they work the same

Should be. Just put the Reinand.dat file in your SD root, put the rei folder (with the emunand and thread folders and the firmware.bin and splash.bin inside it) in the SD root, and put the Reinand folder (with the .3dsx and .smdh files inside) into your "3ds" folder. That will ensure that you have more options for running it available (it will also show up in the HBL).

EDIT: When you open the zip file from the release, the "Reinand" folder is already in a "3ds" folder. Don't overwrite the one on your card, just move the "Reinand" folder into the "3ds" folder on your card.

Not sure if this is the best place to ask, but I'm having trouble booting into Reinand. I got my sysnad and ctrbootmanager set up. I get the Rei splash screen, but after that I just get a black screen with "an error has occured" or "the SD card has been removed" which forces me to reboot. This happens consistently.
Any advice?

Has this always happened, or is this barely happening?

Not with the emunand. Do I have to do anything special to copy it to another SD card? Thanks for the help and quick responses!
Not really, not unless you want to transfer your emuNAND. (Although you stated you haven't been able to access it, so I doubt you have anything on there.)
Just copy and paste everything from your current SD card to the new one, then redo the steps to create an emuNAND on your new SD card.

The only downside IMO to GBAvc/injection is IIRC it stretches to full screen. Retroarch allows 1:1 pixel emulation, and nice crisp text. Of course some games may have some FPS niggles, which for many is key. I enjoy being able to remap controls as well.
Ever tried launching GBA game pressing START and SELECT pressed?
