DISCLAIMER: I DID NOT MAKE THIS AND I DO NOT OWN THIS!!!
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

There has recently been an unofficial release of BlargSnes as a .cia.
This particular version is not exactly 1.3b. More like unofficial 1.3c, as it derives from a branch of development other than the master one. Recent work in this branch addresses some of the SPC timing issues. Not fully complete as StapleButter is having a real hard time working with it that might call for cycle-accuracy, but it does fix a number of games (while possibly breaking others). FFVI seems to be playable now from a fresh start, and doesn't black-out when resting at an inn, but SPC experimentation causes the audio to go wonky when returning from a battle until the music changes (might be that the instruments do not switch back or something). Other things like a particular spot in Super Metroid that caused the game to freeze with a mostly black screen doesn't seem to happen anymore.

There are more recent developments that haven't been committed, but not particularly on the emulation-core side of things from me, as I don't really do that sort of stuff. StapleButter has been busy with RL last I heard, so I don't know what he's done.

Use at your own risk. Support for this will not be given as shown in the photo below.

Personally tested on N3DS with:
U.N. Squadron
Zombies Ate My Neighbors

NOTES: Exiting to home menu and then going back to game causes top screen to turn grey and wonky. Always close game completely.

Putting system to sleep seems to work correctly so far

I thought 1.3b was just an unofficial fix for those using *hax 2.5. Maybe something else was changed to justify a CIA build.
It was only released as a .3dsx which only ran from homebrew menu. But with the recent ability to downgrade they are finally looking into cia builds.

BlargSNES 1.3 have a CIA build on the zip. Only the 1.3b version doesn't have the cia as it is the same build as the 1.3
From what I understand it is using the latest ctrulib. Basically this is 1.3b as a CIA using latest updated library's.

They are already working on 1.4.

This is pretty much just the latest and most recent version, albeit an unofficial release.

Thanks for clarifying that. Just wanted to get the word out to people that may have been looking for a "quick-fix"

Also made sure to include that this is not officially supported.
Hope that was ok. If not I'll request the thread to be deleted.

No no, it's fine. Probably best that people are informed now that this CIA is gonna be internet-shared, with many who probably don't follow that thread who'll then begin asking questions about "why doesn't this work?" and such.

To be honest, I know little about how to build a CIA version, and having made some APT changes that not only affect Sleep Mode but possibly also Suspend mode recently (not committed yet), it might be good to check that at some point to ensure that it works properly.

Being a total noob to all things emulation, is it a simple case of placing a folder containing snes roms on the root of your card and selecting one ? OR does it have to be a specific named folder and other things as well

Just place your roms in a folder named "snes" (without the ""). It lets you search through your sd folders and then you select the snes one and choose your roms.

Appreciate the helpful response, thank you :)

Final question, do i need to worry about "out of region" roms or is region locking not an issue ?
