You're entitled to use the application, the entitlement of the source completely comes down to the creators of said source. it's Exzap's and Petergov's decision on whether or not to release it, if they do, good, if not, oh well, nothing you can do but be a whining kind about it rather than just be patient.

I think it's interesting how model animations appear to work perfectly, meanwhile Xenia (360 Emulator) still has many issues with that AFAIK.
And yes, I know they're completely different systems with completely different inner workings, some harder to emulate then others, so don't piss on me.

My documents folder is not source code. Cemu is.
Cemu's source code doesn't consist of nude pics or something.
The developers would not be negatively affected by the source being released.

I never said people can't have reasons. I'm just pointing out how it's wrong.

2. It belongs to the public
3. Everyone deserves the source code

And Exzap's reasoning is in fact selfish.

If someone submits a push that's not very good, then deny it.
If someone makes a fork that screws things up, then just don't use it.

Your GPU supports Ogl 4.5 but glsl 4.40 (shader language). If Exzap implement glsl 4.50 and AMD don't implement this in next drivers, you and I with my HD7870 and every other AMD GPU can screw together. This is basically what is happening with Xenia.

Well, I did ask what are @Exzap requirements for letting someone have the source code (that happened in a previous post of mine), but no answer yet. I'm just experimenting with the emulator and Autohotkey for now. I'm specially interested in what could become of a Super Mario Maker community around cemu.

The only way to get access to Cemu source code right now is by being a contributor.

In case you want to become a contributor, it's currently not possible. We still know some people in RL that we want to ask first. Trustworthiness and dedication are important and those are hard to prove over the internet.

Sure that can be done! I started writing my first emulator in a BASIC language. (Cemu is programmed in C, for those curious).

No, it will not result in a noticable difference in speed. It's more that we need newer OpenGL features because else we just can't emulate certain aspects of WiiU's GPU.

It's already possible to cheat online on certain Wii Us, and so what if Cemu is used for cheating online? It's Nintendo's responsibility to ban cheaters from online. If Nintendo can't ban cheaters that's their problem.

The decision is not 100% certain yet. We are trying to find a balance on what OpenGL feature can be sacrificed/replaced and how many GPUs we can support.

Just to clarify, I meant bad more towards the people raising the argument that going open-source would lead to a lot of muck.

I don't want to come of rude, but if you keep the source closed and force people to opengl 4.5...
I think the emulator might lose its purpose altogether, if nobody can use it, then what's the point in building it?
At least for me and many people I know who are testing this emulator, it's not a change we would like too see.

I'm just curious, is the plan just to keep it closed source indefinitely, or do you plan to open source it further down the line once the project has matured a bit? If it's the former, is there a possibility that decision might be reevaluated in the future at some point?
