As title says, I can't get emunand 9 to open.
when booting from web, screen glitches out then both screens go black and remain that way
when booting from homebrew, bottom screen goes red twice then both screens remain black until I am kicked back to the homebrew menu.

I have rxtools, bigbluemenu, homebrew all working fine. I tried redownloading the cfw pack and replacing the emunand9 files on my SD but to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be?

You're not running it from CFW are you? I don't think that works.

Don't know what cfw pack you're talking about but maybe try updating it to the latest version... https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-emunand9tool-open-source-emunand-formatter-manager.405921/

You're correct.
It can't be run from HBL launched from within CFW due to the nature of the loader backend it runs off of.

i think it only works when you run it straight from bootmanager. most of the guides to install cfw will make sure you have a bomebrewloader option in bootmanager

Bananarama. Installed menuhax to boot straight into homebrew menu and launched it! Thanks for the help guys and for being so fast to reply. Also installed the boot manager.

Hello, i have this same problem.
How do i install the boot manager? Its already in the root when i download it (boot.3dsx & boot.cfg) but i cant go to it, whenever i hold SELECT when starting 3DS, it turns yellow and didnt do anything. Something wrong with EMUNAND9.3dsx?

[EDITED]
Actually i got the bootmanager up and tried to run the Emunand9.3dsx from there but with no successs. It just throw me again into bootmanager. Anyone can help?

I'm having a similar problem. EmuNAND9 flashes black red black red then throws me back to HBL. I am running from SysNAND MenuHax.

I'm on a9lh just got banned and trying to figure out how to run it ; (
How to run what? Decrypt9 and EmuNAND9?

Copy Decrypt9 and EmuNAND9 .bins to your payload folder and hold the appropriate buttons at launch.

Sorry that my answer is a little vague. The truth is, I think you're a moron and deserved to be banned. So I'm not overly keen to help you, but I've provided enough information to get you on the right track to help yourself.

They can't just do that. They have to rename them first. For example, name them to up_EmuNAND9.bin or down_Decrypt9.bin. Although, I agree with you on the getting banned part.

Figured it out x_dexrypt 9 or whatever but just cause moon ban

Totally agree it was x_Decrypt9WIP and yeah I'll be unbanned soon

Not sure why I sent that twice but ok bye bye

get the latest release of emunand9/hourglass9/decrypt9 (not sure which one is the latest and best to use of those anymore)
take the ...9.bin file from the download, rename it to i.E. start_emunand9.bin and put that file into the /luma/payloads folder in your sd card.

then hold the start button and keep holding it while powering on your system and you're inside the program

you can also name it x_emunand9.bin and hold x instead of start.

it might be you already have those from following the guide back in the day.

be careful what you do in these programs though
