Why update, the update is coming in less than 300 hours most likely

if not by february then soon (tm)

I will only not update if there is a PS1 emulator that uses the Wii U gamepad

There is one for the Wii, so.... it probably can be easily ported to the Wii U and finally run all games at full speed without fps drops.
Also PS1/Dreamcast?/GC/Wii/NES/SNES/GBA/DS emulators/injects etc being playable on the Gamepad + extra features like multiplayer online and maybe proper emulation of old accessories like microphone, camera, network adapters. Think a bit more, you might regret it later.

You can try and quickly open the settings and do it, do not quote me on that tho, it might work.
