do you know how many people have updated already?

I understand that but Mario just said that nothing was patched. I really do appreciate the hard work and effort on this for absolutely no return other than a thank you here and there. I just don't understand why it can't be released. Especially if it's now reliable!

Isn't the wii u at end of life pretty much how many more fw updates u think they will do.I don't think they will be spending much more money manufacturing all new systems and games with new fw's.

Holding it will make it accessible to those on future firmware. The kexploit that is.

@Marionumber1 now that a reliable userland entrypoint for 5.5 is out, i'd like to ask something : at the current state of IOSU exploit as you know it, how is the success rate of the exploit ?

I haven't heard from Hykem in a very long time, so I know nothing about the current state of IOSU. I also haven't tested yellows8's new exploit (not that I could, being on 5.3.2 myself), or heard from others about it.

if future firmware doesn't patch it, it's accessible.

simple
Yes simple, but until which firmware will we wait? For example let's say the next firmware comes at March, and it doesn't patch anything we will still wait for the next and the next and so on, right? I don't see the point here... Maybe I miss something...

Right. So if future firmware does patch it, release the old and work on the new. Makes sense.

Very true! It doesn't seem like it would matter if it was released or not because eventually, it's going to be patched but when? Could be several months.

I believe wudinstaller might allow you to spoof your firmware to 5.5 (and maybe 5.5.1) but idk because I have 5.5.0
Anyway if you are on 5.4 stay there there is no reason to update and you now have a kernel exploit available to you!
how can I firmware spoof when I don't have a userland exploit on 5.4?

The kernel exploit is obsolete because of the upcoming IOSU exploit right?

Back when Oculus Rift was still starting out and being demoed around, they modded existing games to use it as a 360° immersive screen thing and that was AMAZING.

The tech isn't there for affordable power enough VR headsets at a good market value yet sadly, oculus had a good idea but didn't have enough funds for marketing iirc

The tech to have quality VR goggles at an affordable price is here, but every set has to have 4 additional controllers and be standalone.

These are the same type of gamers that spend $2,000 on a GPU when a $600 GPU gives nearly the same outcome which is what the market looks at for them to do spend more on unneeded bs
