So there is some hope for people who accidentally update to 5.5.1 right?5.5.1 didn't change OSv10 at all, so no exploit beyond PPC userspace could have been patched.

well, userland was patched, soooo it will take some time to cook up a new entry point (this is but an uneducated guess)So there is some hope for people who accidentally update to 5.5.1 right?

But the update came and it wasn't patched right?I was the main developer, with Hykem and Matt helping. As it stands, the 5.5.0 kernel exploit doesn't really have bugs to iron out, and is quite reliable. That's part of why it's so important not to get it patched.
do you know how many people have updated already?

Holding it will make it accessible to those on future firmware. The kexploit that is.I understand that but Mario just said that nothing was patched. I really do appreciate the hard work and effort on this for absolutely no return other than a thank you here and there. I just don't understand why it can't be released. Especially if it's now reliable!

@Marionumber1 now that a reliable userland entrypoint for 5.5 is out, i'd like to ask something : at the current state of IOSU exploit as you know it, how is the success rate of the exploit ?
if future firmware doesn't patch it, it's accessible.Interesting. How though?
Yes simple, but until which firmware will we wait? For example let's say the next firmware comes at March, and it doesn't patch anything we will still wait for the next and the next and so on, right? I don't see the point here... Maybe I miss something...if future firmware doesn't patch it, it's accessible.

how can I firmware spoof when I don't have a userland exploit on 5.4?I did not do 11...
Well now I did and the 12th as well, and SURPRISE it froze both times...

I believe wudinstaller might allow you to spoof your firmware to 5.5 (and maybe 5.5.1) but idk because I have 5.5.0
Anyway if you are on 5.4 stay there there is no reason to update and you now have a kernel exploit available to you!
Yes you do. yellows8 posted his, and wupinstaller.com was also updated.I don't have a userland exploit on 5.4
Is there a public way to load the OSDriver exploit from this?Yes you do. yellows8 posted his, and wupinstaller.com was also updated.
The userland exploit for 5.4.0/5.5.0 is public now.
Really? That's great! Thanks! I'll look at it right now.Yes you do. yellows8 posted his, and wupinstaller.com was also updated.
