Sorry, I'm new to this. I was wondering if I can install gba cia's using rxtools. I have rxtools and coldboot so it automatically loads to my emunand.

Hello man,

Yes, you can. First, you need to install the AGB Firm Riku Patch in the NAND of your 3ds console (be careful, make it right), then you could install GBA cias on your 3ds. I assume you have unlinked NANDs so, you would have to install the GBA cia game twice, one in sysNAND and one in emuNAND.

Sorry for my noob question, what is unlinking nand thing?
I think it's how it sounds. Like for example if it's linked and you install a .cia onto your emunand it'll be installed on your sysnand as well, but if you unlink it it'll only be in emunand.

Is there any tutorial how unlink nands? I have noticed that whenever I install a game on emunand, it appears on the sysnand (not playable) everytime I turn the 3DSXL on. I am new at this 3DS scene, thanks.

1) Remove your SD card.
2) Go into system settings.
3) Format yoyr system.
4) Plug your Sd card back.

Thats all.

I have done this a billion times with three different versions of AGB Firm patched and it just hangs after i launch gba games in emunand with rxtools

You followed this right?
yes. I'm running the newest version of rxtools, and i've installed the patched AGB_Firm in both sysnand and emunand, along with the gba cia i'm trying to boot in both.
They boot fine in sysnand when i run pastaCFW but launching from EmuNand causes it to just hang at a black screen forever

Yesm I used fbi to install to the nand in both.
It's confounding because I've followed every tutorial to the letter, but it just doesn't work.
You're supposed to install the gba cia to both, but I don't think you were supposed to install the title on both just on nand from emunand you go to fbi and press l to change the install directory to NAND and install it. It'll say that it's already installed and that if you want to overwrite it or something like that and you just press yes. From there you go to rxmode sysnand open up fbi or whatever cia installer you use install the gba cia and then you go to emunand and install the cia there and that should do it. Oh and also sorry I ain't much help to you, I just figured this out myself.
