Homebrew is homebrew safe

Hello dad, :grog: homebrew is very safe it only has userland access and cant possibly ruin a console at worst you get a freeze/lockup and a simple reboot fixes the issue.
You prob just could have talked Chinese to him

Edit: Some parents don't even know how to format an SD card :/

*hax homebrew (uses Ninjhax, IronHax, BrowserHax, HomeMenuHax, etc) is completely safe as it doesn't touch your NAND at all. Even if something goes wrong with HomeMenuHax, just shut down the 3DS, take out the SD card, boot the 3DS, and put it back in. Then run another *hax exploit to run the HomeMenuHax manager and reinstall it to fix it. Anything purely userland can't do anything to the NAND, so it's completely safe.

i like gbatemp because when I cant find an answer on google and it isn't on gbatemp i can always create a new thread and it will be answered in seconds
besides there isnt much to find out about someone off their 3ds (unless you're dumbish smartish and save a credit card #

Just explain to him that the homebrew runs just like a game, it can't do any more harm than using a legit cartridge can.

I hear too much homebrew will make you blind and give you hairy palms.

Yeah man homebrew is dangerous it can turn your 3DS into a cat, it might even try to live in your house so watch out.

And this is exactly the reason why idiots will post stupid questions and spread rumors.
Due to fools "sarcastically" posting shit.

Hate it when noobs ask stupid shit?
Stop replying stupid shit!

This is exactly the case of most parents (of the age of 40 and older) and old people.
They know nothing about technology and people take advantage of that, especially sellers as they come up with stupid ways to sell them unneeded things.
The amount of times I heard people saying "yeh the seller said I should purchase this and take a subscription to it, as it keeps me computer safe"

"old" people have access to the web as well.
And when they start surfing, they will take 99.9% serious of what is posted online, just like noobs.
If idiots post idiotic things online or spread rumors (like in the early 3DS days that using a DS flashcard would brick the 3DS...) those two groups will believe it.
They tell their relatives and friends in the way of "I heard or seen that on the internet, so it must be true!"
People get upset about noobs asking the same question all over again.
And when those people will post "sarcastic" comments about it, the noobs won't learn and those people would just be creating a bigger problem.

As for OP.
Homebrew is completely safe.
The worst it can do is crash or freeze your 3DS.
Like people said before.

Just don't go downgrade.

took away a 3DS because of "homebrew dangers" yet he has Wii Homebrew...which installing it was more risky than actual 3DS homebrew. Idiots. For being "techies" it's a disgrace... Maybe "techie dad" should do research on 3DS Homebrew (preferably here or the internet in general) instead of blindly passing pre-judgement on it

and by the way...you don't need to tell us your age, by the hints that have been given I can assume OP is pre-adolescent
