Hacking rxTools vs CakesCFW

So, I've searched a bit, but I'm unable to find what the differences are between these two CFW, and the threads I find seem to have outdated information.
What does one do that the other doesn't? What about Reinand?

I just learned that rx-tools doesn't support DS cards on emunand while Cakes will. Everything else seems the same. I'll know after I use it a bit more.

But that is easily fixable by using region free cias (most of the ones I find have RF).

There's a lot out there that aren't region-free patched though

My sister's been able to launch into DS Mode from RxTools EmuNAND.

Whoever told you that is wrong. I don't use Cakes, I use RX-Tools on Emunand, and my DS cards run just fine.

I just tried on my N3DS (9.0 w/ 9.5 emunand) using an RXTools nightly build from December. Trying to boot my DSTwo from emunand crashes to a black screen.

There's definitely some truth to it.

Yeah, it's different for everyone, but it seems like most of the time people can launch into DS Mode.

I told them that

I think it worked on builds prior to a specific date, now that you mention it. I can't remember which one it was.
I'm pretty certain it doesn't work on any of the newer builds, and hasn't worked since the late September build or something.
I've heard of the September 28th build working. Not sure about newer builds.

Most cia releases are regionfree patched, so it will run fine on CakesCFW (I use a few JPN and US game son my EU console and they run fine in cakesCFW)

Try installing on emunand the blue card fix.cia on gateway package.

The DSTwo isn't blocked by the whitelist, so installing the bluecardfix won't have any impact.

RXTools has Region-Free, Cakes doesn't

rxtools is region free to an extent. You still need to use an external source like NTR for out of region DLC and Game updates since that has not been fixed with rxtools.
