when will it be safeI would suggest no, but thats' because I followed the directions to a tee on o3ds and it still got perma bricked ... it seems mostly safe but not 100%.

The 3ds will start reading the cias and then you will see the name of the cias and a green text saying installed by the right side.Wait and you should see some confirmations starting to go down your screen like ___.cia installed (kinda forgot what it says exactly), by the time you get this, you should see something.
Lol heck no! If you're bricked you'd see a black screen. What have you tried to do? Have you downloaded the payload from Smea's site? It's not needed (I was able to get into browserhax without it), but it might help.I downgraded to 9.2, and now I can't install browserhax.
Does that mean I'm bricked?

in what piece of hardware is the 3DS NAND stored in?
i have some old 3DS parts that aren't in use now, so if i hardbrick i could replace the part the NAND is in and i could get my 3DS working again right?
i would feel a lot more safer if i can confirm this

Up to you. I did just to keep everything organized. Plus it starts you out fresh so you have what you need on your sd and nothing of what you don't which saves you room for .cia files.I first installed homebrew through Browserhax today.
Should I format my SD and then start the process fresh?
again, anyone? for cia one I might ask to Julian3 last question:
What is best entrypoint for doing it?
Do I will lose my cia?
What is the most safe sysUpdater I can get? (pm me link)

someone please' i need answers

Did anyone downgrade with cia installed?
How many .cia files do you have? This is getting ridiculous and I'm in despair.
So, after trying twice with Julian's safe SysUpdater and gotten twice a semi-brick (And restored via recovery). I got frustrated and decided to try TuxSH one (on OP's message). But I got a semi-brick again
I used 9.20U, checked the checksum stuff (the number thingie) Menuhax2.1 on Smea2.5 o3ds 10.3U. What did I do wrong? I am confused and slighly pissed lol. Thanks guys for the replies
Edit: As said before, I've tried removing the SD card and then powering-on, but it doesn't matter, I still get the error black screen. Recovery mode is untouched, though.

Step by step:
- Formatted the SD card
- Dropped the starter kit(root dir) and sysupdater(3ds dir) on it.
- dropped 9.2 into the updates folder in the root directory.
- Popped it into the 2ds and let it create its default files
- Opened the theme config to create those files as well
- Opened the camera and scanned the Browserhax QR code.
- Installed menuhax
- Rebooted with L back to the homebrew launcher
- Ran Sysupdater.
No. It would be one of those Black IC chips. Those usually have 40+ pins on them, finely soldered directly to the motherboard. With specific equipment and experience you could remove it and replace it. However your NAND contains the operating system basically which has fingerprint equivalents. Those match only that system.in what piece of hardware is the 3DS NAND stored in?
