No. Formatting the 3DS will render your SD data unusable.

2) Try and risk a brick and having to wait more to either buy a new console or wait for repair

No, it doesn't. The 3DS is a bitch with encryption, and changes keys every time you format it.

Also it black screened me the first time but still showed 9.2 I re downgraded and it went all the way to NATIVE FIRM!
Now pain in the arse begins with sophisticated CFW.

That happened to me on my first attempt. I ran FTBRONY, exited, then ran sysupdater and was successful on my 2nd attempt.

No it does work... Sometimes. The boot rate is very low because it's unfinished.
