I tried using these cheats though, but nothing happened.
I'm sure I'm using the EU version, the system title ID is 0004000000153600 right?

I did update to GW Ultra 3.6.2 though.
Is it possible that these cheats no longer work?

Odd, my System Title ID is the same. Just updated to 3.6.2 and it's still working too.

try using cheat engine for PC , i used to for many years
first , you start searching for the exact value you want
for example , in training you start with 5 tries
search in 8 bit value for the number 5
then go and use one try
then press search next , now put number 4
use again anther one.
now search for number 3 , that should be enough

you should see only 2 address , change the first one and just that.

For EU players:
Here is a Gateway cheat to make everything easier.

Get at least 1 free play.
Than when you are in the real catcher, activate the cheat.
(this is an instant code. No activation buttons needed)

For US players:
You can do this yourself as well

0. Get at least 2 free plays.
1. Go to the real catcher. Before playing go to cheat menu and choose to find a new 8-bit one.
2. Enter the number of the currently free plays
3. Close cheat menu and try to catch a badge (play one game)
4a. Open the cheat menu and search next value. Choose decrease
4b. Go to search results. there should be 2 items. Select the first than the second.
5. Change the number where the cursor is already on (probably 01) to an number you like (probably FF witch is 256)
6. Enjoy your as good as infinitive plays

To refine the search result, try to get 3 free plays and repeat 4a again between play 1 & 2 and 2 & 3!

It seems that the offset is not only dependant on the Region but also on wether you play on an o3DS or N3DS (maybe because of the different FW).
I'll just quote myself: "So today I tried the Badge Arcade Cheats on my EU N3DS (Training 32C25FDC, Real 3286BECC). And they didnt work. When I tried them on my EU o3DS they worked."

@Criminal90 says that the EU N3DS code for practice is at 36825FDC . So the code I am trying tomorrow is:
