>freshly formatted SD card

THAT SEEMS TO DO THE TRICK

as i said post earliers, two guys also said they formatted their SD card before downgrading and it worked at the first try

EVERYONE SHOULD SEE THIS

Excuse the potentially stupid question, but you're saying back up the contents of the SD, reformat it FAT32, put everything back on it again, and this should decrease your chances of a random brick?

Repeat after me since you don't seem to understand. There. Is. No. Official. Release. Supporting. Memchunkhax2

Arrg, that was exactly what you didn't seem to understand...

Code is released and THERE IS NOT ANYTHING OFFICIAL.

To fix bricks, isn't it possible to hard mod, get the NAND and manually fix it by injecting the missing titles?

I believe there has been incident with injecting single titles causing bricks themselves. Unfortunately I haven't seen a nandmod thread in a while. If you have the tools, it may be worth a shot.

Got the "An error has occurred" screen on the first time, updated to latest through recovery, now downgrading again. How come you guys get it on your first try? I have the right files, checked the md5 and sh1 hashes too, they're supposed to be fine.

Unfortunately, I have no hard mod. I don't even know where to start...

I just used the SD card out of my camera and formatted it. It was a completely smooth process. Went through menuhax to do it once I had it installed.

Same again...

but eur has different eshop from aus

True but you can change your region within europe without changing FW, It gives you a list of locations when you set up a 3ds. I downgraded with an E firmware. It just sets currency and pricing differently depending on where you are, same app.

Alright, just to confirm.

I got 10.3, o3DS, USA. MenuHax is installed, IronHax is installed, BrowserHax was used to get into stuff. If I follow the directions in OP, using the .ttp files extracted, everything will work properly until reboot, which will be a black screen. At that point, I take out the SD card and start it up again, and it'll work?

I can understand everything up until the point regarding MenuHax. I see people saying to take out the SD card, but not specifying when. I've seen some people saying to take it out while it's downgrading, but wouldn't that fuck everything up because it's reading the .cia files off the SD card?

Take it out when you get the black screen. Then reboot.

Jeez, I must be an idiot. Isn't the sysupdater app on it, among other things? How can you downgrade with just an empty SD card?
