I'm on 10.1 N3DS, does the eshop spoofer even work for me, or should I just update?

Unless you hack Nintendo and possibly get arrested and sent into court, no. These legit cia's are signed by Nintendo and there's no way around that. At that point you might as well be installing unsigned cias.

I have had this issue with every "legit" cia file I have come across.
System: O3ds with 10.3US via MENUHAX

Edit: I assume its because FBI isn't starting correctly

Dunno what the key is used for, but it's probably not the private key Nintendo uses to sign cia's. If that is the case, Nintendo fucked up.

If you got the EU version and you're not from EU you cannot.

Yeah, the US doesn't have a legit CIA for Smash, thus making updates impossible for them.

This is literally the problem everyone has been having all day. Just keep trying until you can successfully install it.

So can you install games from other regions (USA o3DS / EUR .cia) and run through hans or are you limited to your region? All the good games are out of the US.

Hans is required and it won't show up in your Home Menu.
