Sharing as well.

- System: US N3DS
- Sysnand: 10.1
- Booted HBL with: Cubic Ninja/ Ironhax *Ninjhax 2.5*
- Homebrew Version: Not sure what you mean...
- How many tries before FBI worked: Stopped counting after 20+ *About 1.5 hours trying*
- How many tries before Legit CIA installation worked: 10+
- Did it work: Yes!!!!!!
- Games installed: Mario Kart 7 - NSMB 2 - Mario 3d World

Steps I tried:

First tried with Cubic Ninja to load homebrew, tried the FTPONY trick *Accessing and closing out before launching FIB* didnt work and when it finally opened FIB, I got the error when trying to install (DESCRIPTION_INVALID_COMMAND) many people here got the same error. I saw a post saying that that error pointed to an issue with the CIA stating that it was not legit, which is not correct ,because i was able to install the same one later on. Eventually I set up Ironhax, which gave be different errors but still did not work, I decided to got back to CubicNinja again, On the first attempt I launched FIB and it launched with out issues and I was able to install the 3 CIAs I had on my SD card with out issues.

Honestly I tried to find a pattern of some sort, but after 1.5 hours of trial and error, it worked randomly and I have not idea how. But Thank you for this it was worth trying and trying until I got it. Sharing my experience.

I'm trying to install the european legit cias on my 3dsxl running f/w 9.5 using FBI and it just fails immediately with a summary_wrong_argument error. I've been trying this over 50 times and it keeps coming up with the same error. Sometimes it starts installing for a second but it just shows up the same error again. I have no idea why it's doing this where, for all intents and purposes, it should work.

Unless i'm doing something completely wrong.
I'm getting this error too, and the .cia I got is supposedly legit according to asia81. Funnily enough, I've gotten FBI to load plenty of times with ironhax but the .cia just wont install....

I've finally managed to get FBI working via memchunkhax2. You need to wait until memchunkhax2 says "done" at the bottom then press A. If and when you get into FBI, it should allow you to install cia files. Note that even when memchunkhax2 says "done", it's a hit and miss whether or not pressing A will get you into FBI or not.

So, I'm using FBI, and I'm on 9.2...will this work for me? Nothing will install, I keep getting errors.
You need to be in a CFW, and you also need to make sure you've visited Data Management at least once in System Settings on SysNAND.

If you have emunand, format your sysnand so you unlink them, then visit data mangement.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and you should press L to install to NAND. I recommend only ever doing this in EmuNAND though, because installing to SysNAND is very dangerous and can cause bricks if you're not careful.

What exactly is EmuNAND? I've only ever played around with Hombrew, via Ninjhax, so everything outside of that is foreign to me.

- System: EUR O3DS
- Sysnand: 10.3
- Booted HBL with: Ironhax 1.0
- Homebrew Version: Not sure what you mean...
- How many tries before FBI worked: Around 20 but sometimes works faster or there are some times which can take very long.
- How many tries before Legit CIA installation worked: More than 60 but because I didn't noticed i didn't had enough space, when I made some space it worked at the first time i tried to install.
- Did it work: Works
- Games installed: Super Smahs Bros for 3DS EUR

After 70+ tries with the new downgrader failing over and over again today, thought I'd at least be able to install a few legit CIA's! Um, no...

System: N3DS XL
- Sysnand: 10.3.0-28U
- Booted HBL with: IronHax, Menuhax, Browserhax (tried all)
- Homebrew Version: latest
- How many tries before FBI worked: 50+
- How many tries before Legit CIA installation worked: ZERO
- Did it work: Pshhh... no

Okay so your system's operating system is called the "NAND", but touching your System's NAND (sysnand) is very dangerous and can cause bricks, so instead we Emulate NAND (EmuNAND) from the SD card.

When you format emunand, it creates a replica of sysnand onto your sd card. When you format sysnand afterward, you "unlink" the two, because sysnand now has a different "unique ID"

You also use EmuNAND to update to higher firmwares. (N3DS can't go past 9.5 though due to hack restrictions, but people spoof higher firmwares in their roms to get past this)

So This is sorta odd, I have two 3DS, One being the Original 3DS XL and the other being the New Nintendo 3DS XL. Both are on 10.3 with Ironhax and Menuhax installed. Both have the Installer on both Sd cards with the exact same CIA file on them. Trying with both, I had success installing TWO titles onto the Original 3DS XL while with the New 3DS XL it would fail to install at 97~% of being installed. I had more problems booting into the installer on the N3DSXL while with the O3DSXL I got in within a few reboots. I booted into Homebrew through Menuhax.

Hmmm, I hope I didn't mess myself up...
I'm trying to install the EmuNAND or really anything, but my 3DS keeps having errors. At this rate, I wont be able to fix anything up without it going and having errors. I mean, i can't stay on the HBL without it freezing and going down...and when I do make it int the application I want, it still has an error and takes me all the way back to the menu.

EmuNAND requires 1GB of space on your SD card. You can format it in the Gateway menu by downloading Launcher.dat from gateway's website, putting it on your sd card root, then using the web browser (http://go.gateway-3ds.com/ or boot the .3dsx version from HBL)

Back up your sd card files before you format it, because it will wipe the whole card first.
