Why is 3.0 better than 2.6? What are some improvements?

Is it anyhow possible to make ds flashcards work in Emunand? My r4i gold works fine in sysnand but only gives black screen in Emunand. Any fix for that?

can 2.6 dump files from your choice of sysnand or emunand, then write them back to either sysnand or emunand? I seriously don't remember...

but it's easy as pie to boot sysnand into safe mode and cancel, then immediately load rxtools and dump import.db and inject it into emunand (getting rid of the update nag, in case of a 9.5 emunand N3ds). That's just one example (I'm sure there are more files it does now than it did before). There were things broken before on N3DS that work now as well.

as in faster? I don't think so. But older rxtools did have issues with extended ram games, such as Monster Hunter...

Well im playing Pokemon Alpha Sapphire atm, and i really notice some fps drops at certain points. Also whenever i catch a pokemon i get a blackscreen for about 1.5 sec before the pokedex registration screen turns up. Overall im not to happy with the performance

That is just how the game is sadly. Turning 3d off helps a bit.

If you mean about the system reboot kicking you out to sysnand on O3DS then that's not true, I have played smash bros a lot on 2.6 and haven't had any kind of issues either, the rebooting part is properly patched.

EDIT: scratch that. Just don't use devkitpro r45 to try building rxtools. Cakehax is still broken for rxtools with it.

sounds like slow sd card not getting any drops here except in 3d but i can solve that by using NTR overclock on N3DS

That doesn't works on latest releases. I'm on 10th october build and it works, if I remember correctly it's the last build including this feature

rxtools team disabled DS support in emunand...god only knows why.

That's the only thing that's keeping miniPasta in my SD card.
Weird that they got the DS support (and I think GBA and TWL too) working on the October 2nd build but they dropped it afterwards. :/

- Is rxTools any better than Pasta? I know Pasta is dead now because the developers moved over to rxTools when Roxas quit, but what features (other than the ones rxTools previously had) does rxTools offer that PastaCFW did not?

- Which build should I use? 2.6, 3.0 Alpha 0, or the nightly build?

rxTools is supposed to have Pasta integrated into it, which is why you should go for rxTools instead of Pasta.
But it depends on what console you have.
If you have O3DS, I say keep 2.6 for now.
The nightlies are mostly focused for N3DS users.

I had oct 2nd build before but that lacked regionfree. New nightly has regionfree again, but no DS. Well regionfree is more important to me, so I'll just be using sysNand for DS games, won't be needing it that often anyway I suppose...

Wait, i saw this on the homepage:

• Can i play GBA or DS/DSi games?
  • Yes, in both emuNand and sysNand. The only issue is that to make those apps playable on emuNand you need to install them in sysNand too, or have your Nands linked.

Ok so my son has a 6.2 2DS that he finally found. is RXtools good enough or is there something more fool proof? He is 7 and I'm sure he can understand the concept of holding L when he turns it on to boot the firmware, but I don't want him bricking his 2DS somehow or messing with some kind of tool he shouldn't. I will be using my GW to install anything required to update his console if needed.
