FF7 remake being released as a "Multi part series"
This may come as a blow to fans if this means the whole story of VII won't be available immediately. The announcement has yet to be properly clarifled.

Some people lack the willpower to stay away from readily-available cheats. To be fair, the game is the exact same as the original if you just choose not to use the cheat options. Why stay away from a game just because it adds a baby mode that you can easily choose to ignore completely?

I dunno how to put it without sounding like a purist dick... But I guess it's because I don't want to buy into that kind of thing. I don't feel that RPGs should have that possibility (unless there are some consequences) so I don't want to support it. Then again I'm not positive that I have all the information correct and I won't discourage anybody from buying it. It's just not something I'm thrilled about. To be fair, the game is the exact same as the original if you just choose not to use the cheat options. And this. Sorry guys, I have no willpower! I'm a weak fleshy human filled with temptation. I'd probably end up using the cheat at one point out of frustration and then be upset the rest of the game for it.Some people lack the willpower to stay away from readily-available cheats.
I...I... Insta-heal? As in "I'm losing so I'll just heal my party with no ramifications?"
Genuinely asking. That's the kind of stuff I hated about Bravely Default. I don't think I died a single time in that game because it's so easy to turn on baby mode with no downside.

Oh what I AM okay with is difficulty levels. That's totally cool. Baby, Easy, Normal, Hard, Brutal, Extreme, Suicidal, etc. What I'm against is turning it on and off at will in RPGs which is what seems to be the case for VII and Bravely Default. Kingdom Hearts did it pretty good where you start off in a mode and you stick there. Or maybe if you need to switch modes, at least give the badguys less experience points. At the very least give some in game (or out of game like a trophy) benefit to not turning on baby mode. It's for people who just want to experience the story.
If you don't like it, you're not forced to use it. Just like how Bravely Default and hell, most games, have a super ridiculously easy mode for people who are more interested in the story, or experiencing the game without the frustration. Some people just aren't good at videogames, and it's not really fair to say they shouldn't be allowed to experience it without cheeseballing it or grinding excessively. Though I actually don't remember a mode like that in Bravely Default...but then again I just auto pick the hardest difficulty in most games so yeah.
Also i'm not saying all games should be like that. But singleplayer games with story? Sure why not. It doesn't affect your personal playthrough if someone else chooses a lower difficulty.
It'll have high developement costs, sure, but you can't expect us to believe the development costs will be higher than, say, a new Final Fantasy. You know. The ones that are released in one part (maybe two, put at least in those cases the games are developed from the ground up for two parts). Also, yes, development costs are higher these days, but so is the video game market. Studios can afford to make expensive games.Basically what I'm trying to say is, if they want to do a full remake of FF7 and do it properly (and it looks like they do), it's going to have MASSIVE development costs.

I feel like my opinion isn't the most popular and I don't want to start a discussion in this thread about it since it's unrelated to the main topic. But yeah I see your point. I see all the points related to this discussion. Hope you guys can see mine and agree to disagree.

Yet they still did it.you're digging up some ancient cows mate.
i'm pretty sure they'l be cutting these sort of things out. i just can't see them leaving it in. which of course sucks because those bits may have been weird they're part of the experience.Guys, guys, I just remembered something...
If Squeenix's gonna remake the full game, do you think they'll still leave those "fantastic" moments as Cloud cross-dressing to infiltrate a brothel or the "rape" scene that can happen inside?
As the article says: "If this makes it into the HD Remake, the internet is going to explode."

Cross-dressing is already confirmed to be in the game. I doubt they'd take out the Honey Bee Inn scenes either.i'm pretty sure they'l be cutting these sort of things out. i just can't see them leaving it in. which of course sucks because those bits may have been weird they're part of the experience.
is it? first good news i heard. lets hope they leave everything in then. got a source?Cross-dressing is already confirmed to be in the game. I doubt they'd take out the Honey Bee Inn scenes either.

>-they made multi-release since they would have to cut stuff out if they made it in one game. The detail of the game will be so dense, and you will be able to go to various locations within Midgar that you couldn't go before. The neogaf thread T-Hug linked a while ago. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1152062
-Although it's action style, it has ATB as well.

I am not as hyped anymore.. I still want this badly, but just not so hyped. I just don't want to end up disappointed in 2 years..It's worse than you think.
Pressing R3 also gives everyone instant limit breaks. It refills your HP and MP, mid-battle, whenever you want it, just press R3. No limit. Baby mode if you want it, basically.
I will be using the no encounters and 3x game speed a great deal though.
It'll be 1. If we were living in a world that didn't have digital downloads, there would be a possibility of 2., but three disc would be 150GB (plus whatever day 1 patches/etc there are), if what they say about the size problem to be believed. Their plan is to release in probably 3 or 4 releases as separate games that are part of a larger story/universe (think lightning returns, etc, etc, etc I'm guessing)
The "each one has a completely separate story" thing is what confuses me, it suggest a larger reworking of the story to fit this separate release scenario.
I sincerely hope that's not going to happen. 3 disc was OK at the time, due to physical limitation. But doing so now would be stupid. Milking the cash cow is the only reason why this could be a thing![]()
