Hacking My 2DS broke now I bought a new one on system 6.0.0-12U.

Today my 2ds broke from a fall, and I took it back to target. They were nice enough to refund me for free. So my old device was on 10.1 and ironhax installed and all that good stuff. I also kept my sd card from my old device. After getting the device and setting it up I chose to skip an update. I checked the firmware and it was 6.0.0-12U. I always wanted to install a cfw and wondered if anyone could redirect me to any forum on how I could install it, and was also curious if I could update to 9.2. Thanks

And after finish installing rxTools, download 9.2 firmware (Google [MEGA] [CIA/BIN] MSET 4.X & 6.X backups, Browser backups, Update packs (All Regions)) -> extract firmware cia into updates folder on root of SD -> download sysupdater 0.4.1 https://github.com/profi200/sysUpdater/releases -> extract sysupdater cia on root of sd -> boot into rxTools devmode -> FBI (H&S app) -> install sysupdater cia -> still in Devmode -> Sysupdater -> Update firmware-> profit.

Read the linked thread. You don't need anything else to install rxTools onto your 2DS.

You don't need any flashcart or cubic ninja to set up custom firmware.

Oh wow! That's great for you

First, back up your NAND, install rxTools, emunand, and a cia manager.

Once you get it all up and running you have to manually update to 9.2 to use themehax and be able to coldboot rxTools.

But remember to do one thing at the time, don't try to look everything at once or you'll end up confusing yourself more than needed.

First, back up your NAND, install rxTools, emunand, and a cia manager.

Happy accidents are the best kind good luck, make a Nand backup in the gateway Menu (you don't need the card) and follow the tut exactly Happy modding

Okay I've gotten down near the end of step 1 and it says boot into the gw? I have no idea what that means. I'm assusming it means Gateway but I don't know how.

It has shovel knight, mario kart, Pokemon AS, and Ironfall(hax). Possible? I read about the emunand tool? Will this work? Thanks Shit..... I just remembered I deleted all those games before my 2ds broke... because I could redownload them from eshop.... any hope?

I don't think you can, in order to transfer saves between systems you have to decrypt them with the system itself first, you are at a loss here... Except for retail games.

You can download those games again however you'll have to call Nintendo and ask them to unlink your old broken system and activate the new one.

That tutorial very old before CFW and Gateway Sysnand mode was a thing you should probably avoid it.

Okay then. One question for you. Does FBI allow you to install cia game roms, and if not do any other programs allow you to install cia's from your pc directly to your 3ds over ftp?

Give Nintendo a call and tell them you broke your old console and would like to transfer your NNID to the new one. Depending on who you talk to they might transfer it for you. Then you would just have to log in on the new console after they transfer your NNID on the server side and you'd be able to redownload your purchases.
