Once you get to the Elite Four, make sure to back up your save file. If you're trying to soft reset for shiny Legendaries, back it up then, too.
Will do. At the moment I've been debating if I should just stick with whats available in game, or pk3ds myself some of the base pokemon that you cant get (such as Houndour). No way to trade any of the games unless you had update data. There's a huge lack of good dark pokemon in ORAS :( I don't want to ruin any of the challenge though, pokemon is only lots of fun when it has this much difficulty.

You can install the update data using the eShop spoof then load the game regularly. You can then go online and trade stuff. HANS doesn't load update data so having it installed won't interfere with anything.

Alternatively, if you really want to, simply make some sort of artificial trade system so you aren't straight up importing Pokemon.

Is it possible to create and install a cia version of this that won't affect your other pokemon ruby/sapphire game and allows updates to be installed?

Hmm, you gave me the idea I could trade from pokemon Y on my other 3ds to this one, assuming local trades arent locked to updating.

Question, because this is actually VERY important.

In ORAS, several issues existed with save data being corrupt through Hall of Fame, soft resetting, and other methods. Luckily, all these issues had been patched out with game updates. However, considering HANS and the other ways of loading RRSS don't load update data, are these issues once again present?

If they are, I highly recommend finding a way to merge the update data into the mods patched files. I believe @Asia81 knows how to do this.

You can extract the CIA of the update, put all file in the romfs of the game by deleting old files and rebuild the romfs.
I didn't try but should work

A picture of my team after 6th gym. I'm really behind on levels for all my other pokemon, and I switched to Latios. Umbreon is what I was using before, but it was deadweight without breeded moves and stuff.

Just incase anyone wanted to see what it looks like to be far in.

Also, I have a suggestion. I know you've made it easy to EV train early on, but it would be nice if you could provide a berry seller that sold the berries that reset EVs by 10. It's a pain to get reset bags through RNG, and as we're playing through the story we're going to get some really bad EVs going up.

When coming into Meteor Falls, I really don't get why all these random trainers have legendary Pokémon. Seeing random little girls throwing out Pokémon that can alter time itself or grant any wish is a bit... odd.

Now, the legendary Pokémon that were sent out thus far seem to be ones that have multiples, although I am quite unsure about Jirachi. I don't know why these standard trainers own legendary Pokémon, though.

Difficulty, I don't mind it, when I play a difficulty romhack I play for an upped difficulty. Legendaries aren't needed, but they're fine to have every now and then imo.

Legendaries are fine when kept within limitations. For example, giving a Gym Leader, Elite Four Member, Steven or Zinnia a Legendary Pokémon that has multiples would actually be cool. However, a better way to put it is imagine a Bug Trainer throwing out Genesect. That... really doesn't work.

Also, while I don't know if it's done in the mod, avoid putting any mascot legendaries in the teams of the CPUs. There are some very specific circumstances, such as giving Zinnia one of the mascots that don't appear in-game, but it's best not to do it.

To be honest, the best "Legendary" Pokémon to use on standard trainers is Rotom, as it's confirmed to be a species, has multiple forms, and doesn't have any oddities or niches to it.

also, @ the difficulty thing, none of these Pokemon were on a team of six, and rather kept standalone or with one other Pokemon which made them incredibly easy to deal with

Is there an issue with time based events? None of the one-a-day only events are re triggering for me and it's been way over a day. (such as secret base battles + cafe)

Mine are working fine, so i don't know what's up with yours. Those should reset normally. Did you change your 3DS clock recently (say, for Daylight Savings time)? If you did, the game (not my hack) locks you out of daily events for 24 hours after the first boot of the game.

I changed the time several days past DST the very first 5minute after I did a day limit based event, so it should have only reset it by those 5 minutes 2 days ago.
I.e my 3ds is on 11/6/2015, and i've been locked out since 11/4 (technically 10/31). I was going to see if any save editors will tell me what's up.

Unless it's just an issue on my end, I would take an assumption it's a HANS issue otherwise.

Can't really tell anything from Pkhex. Besides me changing the date from 2011 to 2015 when I got my new 3ds a couple days back.

one extremely annoying thing is seafloor cavern. requires four HMs to get to when hm moves are mostly crap, having to have an hm slave adds another layer of difficulty haha... a very frustrating one at that.

what are the rules for beating your round 2 elite four? is it unfair play to transfer in perfect pokemon to beat it? or will you allow that?

You can beat the game however you like, though your team as a trainer would probably be based on your first Hall of Fame entry in that case.

Ok so, I don't know if I'm having extremely bad luck, or something is up with the RNG.

On average, a critical hit happens at least 2 times per battle, and it is getting pretty annoying when either I win because of a crit or one of mine faint from a Crit.

Also I don't know if this bug has been reported, but the first time you rebattle your Rival (in my case it was Brendan, this is before going to Mauville City, when his starter is on the 2nd stage), as soon as Brendan used his bike his clothing turned Red again (I'm playing Star Sapphire meaning his clothing should've been blue)

The same thing happens with May in Star Sapphire, with her clothes reverting on the bike.

I've also been getting an annoyingly large amount of critical hits, but I'm sure it's just RNG.

I haven't messed with anything involving the RNG and I'm not sure it's even possible to do so. As for the rival's Bike outfit not reflecting the changes... I have no idea why the game would have a separate model for "Rival Brendan on a bike" vs "Player Brendan on a bike" but I guess it does.
