There is no possible downgrade on Wii U now, not even privately, people who attempted that broke their Wii U, and even those were people who dumped their NAND using a hardmod.

I am sorry for your Wii U update, you could either wait for the private 5.5.0 exploit to come out or sell your wii U and buy another one on an older version if you're impatient, but one thing for sure, make sure you have an effective way to block the updates from now on. With the future release that will come from the team, they're probably gonna give us a much stronger solution to block the updates once and for all, since thei already started working on making emunand possible.

I am personally still stuck on 5.4.0, my method is simply removing wifi settings from my Wii U.

I'm not on any dev team, if you can prove that you could do useful stuff, you can contact marionumber1 to give you access to their private exploit, but you'll also need to prove that you won't leak it ^^.

As for me, I am in a state just as you since I'm also stuck on 5.4.0 and can't use the exploit ^^.

If you want to contribute with your programming knowledge maybe you could spend time studying the information shared about Wii U so far in the wiki and take a look at libwiiu and try to create some useful tweaks/homebrew, and ask someone to test for you, I know there's a guy who was developping a tweak for gamepad even though he wasn't on an exploitable fimware.

You could have hosted the kexploit locally. Ie, have the wifi connected, but block WAN access to the Wii U's Mac address in your router.

How were you blocking these? Blocking http requests is not enough. All protocols must be blocked to these IPs.
