Here's my concept Theme:

@fmkid Here's a minimal splash screen. It was really hard to figure out a default wallpaper that went well with all of the themes so I'll share the .pdn files so anyone can easily change the background layers with paint.net

Thanks a lot, pal!... Meanwhile, I remade another (better) version of splash screens for HBL... Here they are (if anyone want them):

@JJTapia19, say I wanted to make one giant image for the splash screen, how many pixels would I need to cut to make one giant image into two separate images to account for the hinge space on a New 3DS XL?

I learned by watching this video.

It's for 3ds custom themes but the only difference is not having the extra white space so your top screen would be 400 x 240 PNG and the bottom screen 320 x 240 PNG
Hope it helps! :yay:

Forgive me, I cant help but share some (five) of my Mashers HBL custom themes. They're all laced with sound from the games they're themed after so feel 'complete' to a degree. The bottom wallpapers were designed for the two-row icon preference and not all the top wallpapers are optimised for the selected icon / metadata, but may well be at some point. Also splash screens and other stuff too once I understand it. It seems to have moved along at a pace to match the generally amazing homebrew stuff happening, I still cant get my head around it all. I also couldn't resist using the 3DS image from above as its nice to see the images in context..hope that's okay. Anyway, hope this works:

3. Eswat 1 (very happy with the loop on the this one):

I have some problems here.
Even though I name the BGM as BGM.bin, it doesn't come out and the splashscreen is only up for like a sec and then it goes to the bottom screen for some reason.
I noticed that despite naming it BGM.bin it remains as a .wav file too

Sounds like you dont have the show file extensions option enabled. Try this out http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/...ions#show-hide-file-name-extensions=windows-7
Once you get the sounds working it will take a little more time on the splashscreen so maybe that will fix your splashscreen problem as well.

Try naming your music track as BGM.bin as part of the exporting procedure (keeping the format as a wav). Renaming files after they had been exported didn't work for me.

Anybody have any examples of the button images? I am trying to figure out how to make my own images but unfortunately I am on mobile and mega-whatever won't let me download the file.

Need just buttontopleft.png, buttontopleftselected.png, Settingsicon.png.
Trying to figure out of the settingsicon works with transparency?

@mashers Mario theme is a great example to learn from.

Ok, so I see that somehow there is transparency in the image... I already understood that was there. But what I don't understand is how do I get transparency in my images?

All I have to work with is Microsoft Paint.

Edit: never mind. It's not possible with Microsoft paint. Gotta find a way to get another image thing like Gimp.

I don't think you can save images with transparency using MS Paint
When you get a chance download paint.net is really small on size and it's great.
You said you were on mobile so you could try picsart too.
