I really don't get the damn hate for the Wii U and yes I know I'm going to get a ton of hate but, so what?!

- Wii U games
- Wii games
- GameCube games
- NES-N64 games
- Genesis, Master System andTurbografix games
- WiiMC for media
- A decent web browser
- Netflix, YouTube, Hulu and Amazon Prime
- Off TV gameplay
- Video Chat
- Support for multiple types of controllers to suit your own play preference

Seriously, aside from graphics for the HD whores, what more could anyone else want??? This console is freggin amazing.

How dare you have an opinion, especially one that favors the weakest of this generation's consoles

I can play Smash Bros on it, and that's good enough reason for me.

Unfortunately it can't play 1080p stuff, but compared to the Roku Media Player, Wii U apparently crushes Roku in that department. Other things to love of course. Even though I haven't bought a video game since December of last year, I have not kept up with new releases or anything like that. I can hold myself over well with Bayonetta 1, 2, Mario Kart 8, Shovel Knight and Super Smash Bros 4. There's more to explore for sure. I'm still glad I purchased the console, 10 months after the fact.

Never been fussy about not being able to play true HD video in Wii MC. I tend to keep my videos in a high quality 720x480 just to ensure compatibility and less bandwidth usage for all my devices.

It's far from amazing, but not as bad as people say it is.

At least there are now games to play for the WiiU. More or less.

This is kind of a backhanded compliment, but Wii U preserves the physical media aspect of games. I prefer a physical copy, but part of that is because their internal hard drives are too small. Compared to PS4 and Xbox One which aren't that big when it's 500GB, Wii U begs for physical copies to be released. Small downloads like Shovel Knight are fine, but their first party, big AAA titles, I'd never own digitally.

If you enjoy it, then great. I don't care much for it because it only has a whole 3 exclusives that interest me and forces that uncomfortable gamepad. As for multimedia, I prefer my HTPC running Kodibuntu. For homebrew, like Nintendont, my Wii still works fine. I don't think the Wii U is a particularly terrible system, just a bit pricey for what it is and underwhelming. Like the PSP, it will be probably be fairly lackluster at the end without homebrew (I'm not including vWii homebrew).

Super Smash Bros 4, Super Mario Maker, Splatoon and Mario Kart 8 to name a few will keep you busy enough. There's no need to hoard so many titles. LOL. But yeah, those games are fun. Still looking forward to more future games or the NX... whichever comes first.

Very useful for TV offscreen play.
It has such great potential, just like the DS but with MOAR POWAR. I just wish libdrc was not so dead. :-/

does the basics, though.....but they could have added some more features, dvd player etc (seeing as they had no dvd player feature in the console), and get sales for the wiiu as a universal remote with free games console thrown in

If only it was a smart remote, with multiple profiles. A little bit more in terms of hardware and software.

It is a little limited though.

The only thing I hate about the TV remote feature is not being able to control my sound system from it.
